Harness racing hits Auckland again today with eight races on the card. The racing starts at 5:39pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good night of racing.

Best Bet:  R6  Better Knuckle Up

Best Value:  R3   Lil Whip

Race 1

Commander Lincoln (3) Hard run last start and better suited here. Big chance in this
Mydadtheterror (7) Disappointing last start but could bounce back in this. Needed
Tugawar (5) In good form and might be the leader in the race. Can go one better here

Race 2

Hawkeye Pierce (5) Better for the last start run and should run top three. Top selection
Slots (4) Freshened and has the motor to threaten here. One of the better chances in this
Clouding Over (3) Racing ok and with the right trip is one for longer odds. Include

Race 3

Lil Whip (7) Big drop in class for this and driver change for this. Can win with manners
Stone Cold (2) Getting better with racing. Good draw. Can run top again three here
Heavenly Belle (6) Trialling well and stable respect here. One of the main players

Race 4

Shake A Leg (1) Form says he runs top three here. Freshened and drawn to suit. Needed
Red Rackham (2) Has ability and will be ready for this. Good enough to go close here
Carbon (3) Not much luck last start but battled well. Should be thereabouts here. Include

Race 5

Five O’Clock Gerry (4) Has been disappointing but better than that. Chance at longer odds
Aldebaran Allblack (6) Getting better with racing. Should go close to top three in this
Bangkok Betty (10) Looks better suited here after racing better fields. Worth throwing in

Race 6

Better Knuckle Up (8) Drawn wide but and in good form for this. Top selection in this
Acushla Machree (3) Good beginner who will head forward early. Could surprise here
Busload Of Faith  (4) Racing well but up in grade here. Top three chance again. Include

Race 7

Magic Dash (7) Slightly disappointing last start. Chance with a better run in transit
Liaison (8) Loves these standing sprint races and a chance at longer odds to place
Lord Popinjay (10) In good form and a good beginner. Even field but has winning claims.

Race 8

Twista (5) Running on well last start to win. Can improve further and go close here
Diamonds Are Forever (2) Was unlucky last start and draw suits. Possible leader here
Leo Lincoln (6) Goes well on the course and has winning claims if the pace is on. Needed
