Harness racing hits Banks Peninsula again today with 12 races on the card . The racing starts at 12:10pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

The Gardener’s Pride (4) Top driver sticks with and grass suits. Can go close with manners
Tessamae (1) Grass will help and should begin quickly. One of the better chances in this
Monaro Meg (3) Getting better with racing and conditions suit. Drawn to be a major player

Race 2

Bad Habits (14) Freshened and looks stronger this time in. Tricky draw but has to be included
Revolution (3) Has early speed to be one of the leaders and will be fitter. Winning claims
Echappe (13) Looked the winner before breaking on grass last start. Top three chance in this

Race 3

Kasarani (5) Stable respect and follow the tote. Good run expected on debut and needed here
Justa Terra (3) Stable change and a threat to the favourite with a good run in transit. Include
Royal Belle (17) Tricky draw but has a bit of speed. Can sneak into the top four at longer odds

Race 4

Nasana (1) Solid second last start and a winning chance again from the draw. Include in this
Better Be Quick (5) Has gate speed and stable respect here. Should give a good account
Nickel And Dime (9) No form but improver with a place chance at longer odds with a soft trip

Race 5

Crown The Moment (1) Fought on last start in a stronger field. Top selection from the draw
Barrytown (4) Racing in good form and well placed here. Good each way chance again
Musclynn (3) Will be fitter after last start and goes ok the track. One for longer odds in this

Race 6

Bettor Be Sharp (10) Good against a strong field last start. Hard to beat again in this field
Topaz (17) Terrible draw but does have finishing speed. Needs a hot pace to get into the finish
Heaven (8) Due to show form again and grass suits. Driver change and each way claims here

Race 7

Colin McBride (9) Draw hurts but has won on the track in the past. Can run a tidy race in this
Gem N Em (1) Should get a run through early. Might need luck but has won on grass. Include
Quinn (3) Ok draw and has been running some ok races. Upset claims with luck in the running

Race 8

Swift Dream (7) Will need manners but has speed once under way. Can go close with manners
Bonnie Bagrie (3) Not far away from getting back into form. One for longer odds in this field
Racey Krusa (14) Goes well on the track and place claims with a cart into the race. Include

Race 9

Wild Willow (18) Good run in the Methven Green Mile. Wide draw but can give a good sight
Lester (11) Decent motor and grass suits. One of the better chances with any luck in running
Katherine (5) Good win last start. Will continue to improve and place hope again here at odds

Race 10

Anytime At All (12) Nearly at peak fitness. Draw a concern but has speed and driver in form
Betterwithbling (10) Pegs draw and getting fitter. Has to be a chance in this with any gaps
Hey Tonight (1) Good win last start and can do some work mid race. Winning claims again

Race 11

Oliver (8) Grass suits and has won on grass. Can go close here with manners. Good chance
Grettymac (14) Placed on the track in the past and racing well in stronger fields. Include
Jasprit Trouble (5) Likely to race close to the speed here. Needs the right trip but has claims

Race 12

Post Painter (11) Has been unlucky and could surprise with a good run in transit. Top selection
Toby Tom B (3) Nice third last start. Good draw here and likely leader early. Can stick on
Franco Humbie (10) Trailing draw and grass suits. Not the worst at longer odds with gaps
