Harness racing hits Addington again today with 11 races on the card . The racing starts at 12:23pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Cheviot selections 6th April 2025

Best Bet:  R1 Aldebaran Redwood

Best Value:  R4   Natives Inferno

Race 1

Aldebaran Redwood (3) Has not had a lot of luck in transit. Should run top three with no mistakes
Macho Man (6) Racing in good form and should begin quickly. Has winning claims with a good trip
Miss Maddie Maxie (11) Southern visitor who is an upset chance with manners early. Place chance

Race 2

Rosario (2) Has a bit of a reputation and trialed well recently. Should give a sight on debut. Include
Lookin Snazzy (6) Good finish last start and will be fitter. Wide draw but will be running on here
Blacklaz (3) Stable respect and top driver booked suggest a good run on debut. Winning claims in this

Race 3

Bautista (10) Better than a maiden and will get a win at short notice. Good run expected but even field
Premier (3) Fresh up third was good and a threat to the favourite with a decent run in transit. Include
Carlin (9) Checked last start but has plenty of speed. Can sneak into the top three with luck in running

Race 4

Natives Inferno (4) Solid second last start and a winning chance again from the draw. Needed here
Lindy’s Rocket (7) Has early speed and goes best in front or near the lead. Should give a good account
Very Majestic (9) Out of form but improver fresh. Just needs an error free run to get some money here

Race 5

The Coalman (6) Fought on last start in a similar field. At his best would be hard to beat here
Woodbine Rocks (9) Had excuses last start and well placed here. Good each way chance
Pure Courage (5) Will be fitter after his last start unlucky fifth. Should get a soft trip. Include

Race 6

Secret Wish (1) Good against a way similar field last start. Hard to beat from the draw. Needed
B B Crunch (3) Should get a soft run handy. Runs have been ok and one for longer odds here
Bettor Belle (6) Two good seconds and should be fitter for this. Stable respect here. Winning claims

Race 7

Paige (1) Gets a head start on the favourites. Will need manners but can go back to back with luck
Holly Highlander (4) Fast beginner who should go close to placing in this. Will get a forward position
Buffy Northstains (5) Racing ok and should get a good run near the speed. Top three chance

Race 8

Xlendi (8) Good recent trial and goes well on the track. Wide draw but can win if he steps away fast
Here’s Herbie (2) Decent motor and is drawn well here. Chance at longer odds and could surprise
Tanzania (7) Good run last start for second. Will continue to improve and place hope again here

Race 9

Radioactive Jaffa (14) Tricky draw but will be running on. Will need a good cart up but can go close
Topaz (13) Decent motor and bad draw the only concern. One of the better chances with a good trip
Melody Banner (8) Disappointing last start. At her best would be hard to beat. Give another chance

Race 10

Royal Del (1) Has raced better fields. Drawn the ace here and looks a top three chance. Needed
Muscle Sass (8) Wide draw but faster than most in this field. Has to be respected again in this
Jimmy Carter (11) Good stats here and can do some work mid race. One of the better chances

Race 11

Shake A Leg (13) Good run fresh up at Rangiora. Improver who can go close here with luck in running
Dance With The Boss (11) Fought well last start and drawn for a run through early.  Winning claims
Jack Tar (12) Better than the form suggests and loves a hot pace. One for longer odds in this
