Harness racing hits Hawera again today with eleven races on the card. The racing starts at 12:00pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Value:  R3  The Finisher

Race 1

Lightning McQueen (3) Gets a head start on main rivals. Could surprise at longer odds
President Flynntin (11) Good runs in recent races. Change of trainer for this. Include
Trifolium (10) Manners needed but a chance if she does things right in transit

Race 2

Love Is Everywhere (4) Freshened and stable race well in the district. Looks ideal today
Alana (9) Beat a similar field last start. Should go close to top three again here
Slainte (6) Has been good on the grass surface. Needs to trot all the way but has claims

Race 3

The Finisher (10) Change of trainer and opened over the odds. Expect improvement in this
Savarna (5) Has form in decent fields. Can run top three again with a good run in transit
Sharkntatties (7) Gate speed to lead from the front row draw. Has to be included here

Race 4

Challenger (1) Big second on grass two starts ago. Will be improved and can go close
Lamarli (9) Goes well on grass and draw suits. Should be close up at the finish here
Dom Toretto (3) Racing ok in stronger fields. One of the better chances in this field

Race 5

Morere (4) Drawn well and should go a decent race based on previous grass runs. Needed
Perun (1) Has gate speed but manners not great. Place chance
Micky Wade (8) Might try for the front early. Chance if she lands lead or trail

Race 6

Beaudiene Quick Step (9) Improver for this and fence run will suit. Could surprise here
Quicksmart (1) Better run on grass two starts ago. Will need luck but can place in this
Caulfield (10) Due to start a run of form. Slight drop in class and is a top three chance

Race 7

Jazzy Styx (1) Nice draw and has raced well in better fields in the past. Top selection here
Whitfield (5) Should be suited by the grass. Can win with a good run in transit. Include
Messenger Buoy (8) Stable does well on the circuit. Good win last start and can go on with it

Race 8

Santanna Mach (11) Tricky draw for this but has grass track wins on board. Include here
Call Security (1) Has been disappointing but drawn to suit. Can run top three at longer odds
Uncle Drew (2) At his best would go close to placing here. Good top three chance in this

Race 9

The River Boy (2) Will need to step cleanly but has the motor. Top selection in this
Break Free (10) Good on grass and looks well placed in this field. Can go close with luck
Run Forest Run (1) Draw helps and racing well. First run on grass but has winning claims

Race 10

Smoke On The Water (5) Has form and should give a good account here. Grass suits
Bad Medicine (9) Good beginner who is consistent. Winning claims with the right run
Hooray Henry (7) Getting better with racing and if the pace is on is definitely a chance

Race 11

Victor Bravo (6) Track will suit and will be running on late here. Can go close here
Jazelle (8) Out of form but has the speed and conditions suit. Will stick on ok here
Artful Living (5) Grass ideal and a bit one paced but can run top three with luck
