Harness racing hits Hawera again today with nine races on the card. The racing starts at 12:33pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Petronelli Gee (10) Gets a head start on the favourites. Could surprise with no errors
Mocca Francy (9) Conditions suit and in good form. Winning claims in this field
Ultimate Moment (4) Draws ok for this and can run them along in front. Include

Race 2

Sly Terror (3) Looks a great winning chance from the draw and with Auckland form. Needed
Juliette Shard (7) Racing well and can grab a top three placing. Trainer will do well on the circuit
Cristiano Buccini (2) Has been disappointing but gets his chance from the draw. Place hopes best

Race 3

Courage Reactor (6) Impressive second last start after working hard mid race. Hard to beat here
The Elite Athlete (8) Tricky draw but not the worst in this field. Chance with a cart into it
Bet On Steph (5) Racing well and grass ok. Might lead and then trail. Needed in this

Race 4

Superstar Legend (8) Loves grass and draw the only issue. Capable of beating this field
Beta Than Love (5) Out of form but has speed and better last start. Could surprise at odds
Spirited Belle (6) Tricky draw but has blistering gate speed if they want to use it. Include

Race 5

Ace Strike (8) Good win last start and tricky draw the only concern. Can win with luck
Caulfield (3) Good second last start and should race handy to the speed. Winning claims
Grinning Again (6) From a stable that gets results. Grass ok and could run top three

Race 6

Raging Whitebait (5) Ok last start in a strong field and will be improved. Hard to beat here
Sharp Lou (7) Out of form and grass stats not great but give another chance in this field
Imashadowprincess (4) Good draw but still green and can make mistakes. Has winning claims

Race 7

Major Collect (3) Good seconds the last couple and drawn to race handy. Would pay to include
Call Security (2) Has run good races against decent fields on grass. Winning claims in this
The Cobbler (7) Will get back in the running but has a sharp late sprint. Could surprise

Race 8

Brookies Jaffa (8) Racing well without luck. Hard to beat if he gets a cart into the race
Doctor Tim (5) Likes grass and distance suits. Could run a cheeky race against this field
Hesashorething (3) Better than the form suggests and likely leader. Hard to run down

Race 9

Clymenus (2) Placed on grass and racing ok without luck. Drawn well and top selection
Boulton Home (4) A bit in or out but grass his go and a chance with the right trip
Stamp Duty(AUS) (8) Interesting trainer change for this. Big threat if improved
