Harness racing hits Methven again today with eleven races on the card. The racing starts at 11:48am and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Value:  R11   Jordy

Race 1

Ocean Breeze (3) Better run at Amberly and could be the leader here. Hard to beat
Alta Showgirl (1) Big upgrade in draws and will race handy. Chance to break maidens
Magie Do  (2) Due to hit some form and smaller field might help. Include at longer odds

Race 2

Top Of The Hill (9) Manners required but an each way chance here. Even field on paper
One El (10) Had excuses last start but previous form was good. Chance with no mistakes
The Gardener’s Pride (3) Has been better at recent races. Can race handy and run top three

Race 3

I Spy Diamonds (5) Normally a good beginner and grass suits. Has to be respected in this
Champagne Nen (6) Freshened but has the ability. Can run top three with a good run in transit
Pioneer (7) Tricky draw but will be running on here. Good winning chance with no mistakes

Race 4

Norwest Franco (6) Good run on grass last start. Will be improved and can go one better
Kawatiri Creek (7) Drawn wide but was unlucky last start. One of the major players in this
Gem N Em (1) Draw could work out ok. Should get an economical run and can place

Race 5

Mainbocher (7) Big late finish last start and can go close with a similar effort here. Needed
Cosmic Angel (12) Goes well on grass and has won here in the past. One for longer odds
Bella Lindenny (10) Grass track form is ok and only needs manners to be a threat in this. 

Race 6

Blue Rock Dancer (1) Caught the running home late last start before locking wheels. Go again
Jaccka Opa (9) Driver in form and looks a big chance in this field. Will need luck but can win
Scarlett’s Legacy (8) Ok last start and will be running on late in this. Chance at good odds

Race 7

Fergalicious (10) Inside second row draw might work out ok. Should be a good chance in this
Get It On (1) Best draw for some time and should get a soft run in transit. Could surprise
Knockshanbally (4) Has won on grass and new trainer for this. Chance at longer odds here

Race 8

Heza Sport (12) Due to strike some form and only needs better luck to go close to top three
Buckskin (11) Out of form but grass track stats are good. One for longer odds in this
Lester (8) Good beginner who will be running on. One of the better chances in the race

Race 9

Radioactive Jaffa (10) No room last start and ideal draw for him on the fence. Top selection
Flyaway (4) Races well on the track and easy win last start. Can run top three again
What A Minx (7) Getting better with racing and might head forward early here. Good chance

Race 10

Musclynn (12) Conditions suit and second here last start. Should give a good account here.
Buffy Northstains (15) Tricky handicap but has good grass credentials. Still a good chance
Prince Ranier (3) Out of form but races well here. Might surprise with a good run in transit

Race 11

Jordy (10) Track should suit and look for improvement in this. Chance at longer odds
Izacheapee (7) Made an error last start on the track but better than that. Has to be included
Szybka Lane (4) Gate speed and could end up with a soft run. Can run top three with luck
