Harness racing hits Methven again today with 11 races on the card. The racing starts at 12:00pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Value:  R6   Franco Humbie

Race 1

Cheeky Red (6) Racing well but without much luck. Very close to a win with manners. Needed
Sidorova (2) Small field will help and better drawn here. Capable of quick improvement. Include
Foveaux Gambler (14) Getting better with racing and can finish well off cover. Place chance

Race 2

Help Me (8) Did well on grass last couple and trained locally. One of the better chances in the race
Whata Castleton (10) Not far away last few starts and will be fitter. One for longer odds in this
Carmen Lucia (13) Needs manners but has speed. Top three chance with no mistakes in the running

Race 3

Scotlynn Fortress (16) Can not fault the form line but tricky draw. Good run expected with luck
American Tos (9) Not living up to his trial form but a threat to these with a good run in transit
Willy Away (12) Good effort last start and normally running home well. Can sneak into the top three

Race 4

Carrera Vamos (2) Solid second last start and a winning chance from the draw. Worth including
Kensington Mike (16) Stable respect and only needs manners to be a chance. Leave out at your peril
Itz All Over Rover (7) Nearing peak form and grass surface suits. Good top three chance. Needed

Race 5

Birstall Babe (11) Fought on last start in a stronger field. Top selection in this but draw not great
Heza Cool Dude (7) Up in grade but looks well placed here. Good each way chance in this field
Luca (3) Will be fitter after last start. Good draw and should get a soft trip. Driver change too

Race 6

Franco Humbie (1) Fought on last start and best draw for a while. One for longer odds in this
Ultimate Perfection (6) Had excuses last start and well placed here. Good each way chance
Kushite Warrior (10) Will be fitter after last start. Trailing draw and should get a soft trip. Include

Race 7

Foliejon Star (4) Good against a tougher field last start. Hard to beat against this lot. Needed
Country Gold (1) Should get a soft run handy. Winning claims from the draw. One for odds
Johnny Arma (8) Looked unlucky last start flying home late. Has raced well at trials here

Race 8

Commander Ben (5) Good finish last start. Drawn ahead of major rivals and can go close
J T Boe (12) Big motor but tricky draw. Will need luck but has to be included on recent form
Kiss The Girls (10) Disappointing last start. Will continue to improve and place hope at odds

Race 9

Farewell Spit (13) Wide draw but can win if he gets an ideal cart into the race. In the mix here
Hi Hopes (12) Down on form but grass suits and at her best would go close in this. Winning claims
Scarlett’s Legacy (11) Disappointing last start. Will continue to improve and upset claims in this

Race 10

Jasprit Trouble (16) Has raced well in better fields. Drawn terribly but will be running on. Needed
Noah Magnific (1) Best draw and better than most in this field. Has to be respected from the ace
Cappaha (10) Good finish last start and can do some work mid race. Will need luck but include

Race 11

Times Are A Changin (2) Has been unlucky and best draw for some time. Top selection in this.
Samvasa (9) Disappointing last start. Wide draw here but can finish powerfully off cover. Needed
Lilac Luxury (11) Good finish last start and grass no issue. Not the worst with a clear run. Go again
