Harness racing hits Methven again today with ten races on the card . The racing starts at 12:25pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Best Bet:  R2  Mariana Trench

Best Value:  R4  Star Magic

Race 1

Rosary (5) Getting fitter and should give a good account in this. Placed on grass last start. Needed
B K Mumma Jamie (3) Good run after breaking last start. One for longer odds with no errors early
Hank Hill (14) Manners a concern but has a bit of speed and stable in form. Could surprise in this

Race 2

Mariana Trench (3) Grass suits and has too good seconds so far. Very hard to beat here. Top selection
Sweet Glory (1) Finished well late last start and gets a good draw to work with. Expect a similar run
Unico Tessa (4) Improver from her last start sixth and a good top three chance. Better draw here

Race 3

Patrice (9) Plenty of speed and should handle the grass ok. Has winning claims with early manners
Times Like These (5) Nice finish here last start and a threat to these with a good run in transit. Include
Troubleshooter (10) Good effort after getting back in the running last start and can sneak a top three 

Race 4

Star Magic (5) Solid finish last start and a winning chance if he goes forward. Draw hurts but needed
Ann Sophie (7) Has form and goes ok the track. Should give a good account with a soft run in transit
Ivona Dadic (15) Draw an issue but conditions suit. If the pace is on she can work into the race late

Race 5

Dem Bones Dem Bones (2) Grass suits and nice trial recently. Top selection in this and hard to beat
Transtasman Bubble (7) Has been unlucky but good second when last on the track. Each way chance
Racey Krusa (4) Will be fitter and should get a run through early from the draw. One for longer odds

Race 6

Deceptive Lee (10) Good against a tougher field last start. Hard to beat against this lot. Needed
Festus Haggen (5) Should get a soft run handy. Danger to the favourite with manners. Include
Hugo (11) In form but drawn badly here. Driver change and place chance with a cart into the race

Race 7

Wild Willow (7) Good win last start and small field will help. The one to beat and should go close
Homebush Lad (6) Should get a run through early. Might need luck but good over the longer trip
Kiss The Girls (3) Driver change for this. Upset claims with luck in the running and could surprise

Race 8

Misty Blue (11) Tricky draw but hard to beat and will be fitter here. Top selection but luck needed
Anytime At All (4) Solid form for this and should go close to placing again. Winning claims here
Izacheapee (8) In good form and tidy win on the track last start. Top three chance again in this

Race 9

Torvi (3) Quick finish to win last start and will be running on again here. Wide draw but needed
Prince Ranier (5) Decent motor and goes well on this track. One of the better chances. Include
Barrytown (9) Good second on grass last start. Will continue to improve and place hope again here

Race 10

Just Ask Paddy (8) Has raced better fields. Big late finish last start and looks a good bet. Needed
Doctor Tim (2) Better draw and faster than most in this field. Has to be respected again here
Jack Tar (12) A bit one paced but can do some work mid race. Needs the pace on to show his best
