Harness racing hits Invercargill again today with nine races on the card. The racing starts at 3:58pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Best Bet:  R1  Janaka’s Delight

Best Value:  R5 Florence The Machine

Race 1

Janaka’s Delight (5) Good finish last start on grass. Will be very hard to beat in this. Needed
Ledger’s Maid (3) Small field will help and should begin ok. One for longer odds in this
Gati (4) Top driver booked and big improver for this. One of the better chances in the race

Race 2

B D Hall (1) Nice effort on debut and easier here. Drawn ideally and should go close in this
Spiritinthesky (4) Very good in a similar field last start. Winning claims from the draw. Include
Clotilde Wainwright (9) Improver from her last start and stable respect. Top three chance

Race 3

Samanthas Moon (4) Not far away last start when leading up. Similar tactics might be applied
Flying Without Wings (5) Small field will help with his strong finish. Will be running on well
Te Rapa (6) Has been breaking and losing his chance early. Top three chance but manners needed

Race 4

Haley Robyn (5) No chance last start but winning claims if she goes forward early here. Include
Raknruin (6) Will appreciate the shorter trip here. Should give a good account back in this grade
Dreamalittledream (4) Out of form but improver with a place chance with top driver booked.

Race 5

Florence The Machine (6) Trainer change and in the right race fresh up. Chance at odds here
Lil Whip (7) Plenty of ability but manners not great. Winning claims if she trots all the way
Majestic Me (2) Will be fitter after last start third. Up in grade but has a good reputation. Needed

Race 6

Adamas (3) Good against a tougher field last start. Hard to beat against this lot. Top selection
Mythical (5) Stable respect and latest trial was much better. Should give a good account in this
Captain Amore (9) Has good from but tricky draw to overcome. Can go close with any gaps

Race 7

Secret Agent Man (3) Draw helps and rates highly here. Will start favourite and should go close
Ultimate Weapon (5) Second string hope for the stable. Needs luck but good top three chance
Dragon Power (1) Best draw and tidy run for second last start. Should get a soft run in transit

Race 8

Tuneinsportsfans (11) Latest second was good and normally holds his form. Top driver sticks with
Mr President (6) Has been disappointing but should go close to placing in this. Worth including
Montage (1) In good form and should get a good run near the speed. Place chance from the draw

Race 9

Durrant (1) Likely to get a soft run near the front from the draw. Good place hope at longer odds
Beach Day (8) Decent motor and wide draw the only concern. Has been racing better fields. Needed
Mr Cash Man (9) Disappointing last start. Will continue to improve and better placed in this field
