Harness racing hits Invercargill again today with seven races on the card. The racing starts at 1:00pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Bet:  R2    Stella Bay

Best Value:  R5   The River Boy

Race 1

Ledger’s Maid (5) Normally thereabouts and place hopes here at longer odds. Include
Glenkenick (3) Battled last start but could bounce back with a good trip. Could surprise
Huzuni (6) Has been racing better fields in Canterbury. Looks hard to beat here. Needed

Race 2

Stella Bay (8) Must be close to an overdue win and this looks ideal. One of the better chances
Popnrock (5) Conditions suit and has the motor to threaten here. Normally a good beginner
Top Of The Hill (1) Stable change and trainer can turn them around quickly. One for longer odds

Race 3

The Next Best Thing (7) Going great races and likely to get a handy run near the front. Needed
Play The Ace (3) Trials have been ok and drawn to feature early. Even field but has claims here
Rylan Charlie (8) Wide draw but has a bit of speed. Will need luck but not the worst. Include

Race 4

Robyns Playboy (5) At his best would go close to winning this. Big drop in class and can win.
Dreamalittledream (3) Change of trainer after Canterbury racing. Good draw and could surprise.
Sidorova (4) Looks well suited by the distance and draw. Big rise in grade but has place claims

Race 5

The River Boy (7) Freshened for this. At his best would be very hard to run down. Top selection
Jaccka Baylis (4) Good form and racing well. Should go close to top three with luck in running
Bill Bootit (6) Conditions suit here and has been close up in recent runs. Can run top three again

Race 6

Advance Party (6) Never out of the money on the track in 5 starts. Top three prospect again
Deny Everything (8) Looks well placed in this field but tricky draw. Can make his own luck
Step It Up A Notch (7) Good win last start and has good course stats. Has to be included here.

Race 7

Van Liberty (7) Has been racing ok in similar fields. Can improve and likely to go forward early
Fireforefiddle (1) Running on late last start and draw suits. One for longer odds from the ace
Emerald Abbey (4) One paced but draw well and should get a run handy to the speed. Include
