Harness racing hits Kaikoura again today with eight races on the card. The racing starts at 3.35pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Bet:  R7   Head Em Up 

Best Value:  R1   Boyz Invasion

Race 1

Boyz Invasion (9) Trainer change for this. Has the ability and can win fresh Top selection
Ginas Majesty (3) Out of form but could be an improver here. One for longer odds in this
Brian Beatt (1) Battling but suited the track and respect the stable. Can run into the placings

Race 2

Vertigo (10) Conditions suit and could go well fresh. Could surprise with luck. Include
Zsa Zoe (7) Has raced stronger fields and suited here. One of the better chances in this
T K Megastar (5) Manners needed but has the speed. Back in a winnable race here. Include

Race 3

Carmelite (8) Should have had a win by now and this looks ideal. Major player here
Miley Ace (9) Racing well but will need luck from the draw. Has to be included here
Rosie Richter (4) Has been racing ok and should race handy. Place chance from the draw

Race 4

Judine (2) Likely to get a good run from the nice draw. Winning claims with luck in running
Fergalicious (7) Out of form but better than that. Should give a good account in this field
Betterthandiva (1) Drawn for a good run on the pegs. Can run into the top three. Needed

Race 5

Adesanya (1) Finally gets a good draw and stable due to fire up. Has to be respected here
Willison (9) Tricky draw and requires luck. Has winning claims at longer odds. Include
Moonlite Dream (4) Quick beginner who might try for the lead in this. Can run time

Race 6

Mon Lancome (9) Nice win last start. Should be improved for this and top driver booked
What A Minx (5) Good form and is honest. Needs the right trip but can go close to winning
Our Shangri Lana (7) Good win last start. Improved effort takes her close to the placings.

Race 7

Head Em Up  (9) Good second last start in a strong field. Major player in this. Top selection
El Conqueror (4) Out of form but speedy and trainer respect. Top three chance with luck
Quik Barbie (3) No form but has some speed and only needs manners to be a chance here

Race 8

Doctor Tim (5) No luck last couple and due to strike form again. Major player in this.
Commander Ben (4) Good effort last start. Better draw and can run top three with luck
Krystal Delight (1) Should get a good run on the pegs and sprint suits. Not the worst in this
