Harness racing hits Kaikoura again today with 10 races on the card. The racing starts at 12:25pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

All Of Me (2) Racing better fields and drawn well here. Should be winning with luck in transit
Royal Belle (1) Small field will help and should begin quickly. Top three claims in this field
Franco Harlem (6) On debut from powerful stable and trialing well. Needed in all combinations

Race 2

Paramount Picture (7) Needs to bring manners but hard to beat if he trots all the way. Good chance
Nobilo (6) Freshened and has run some nice races in the past. Can run top three with a quick start
A Reason To Fight (4) Improver from her last start and better draw for this. One for longer odds

Race 3

Classie Linc (3) Back in grade and top driver booked. Likely to head forward early. Better run expected
J T Boe (5) Good win last start and looks hard to beat with a good run in transit. Stable respect here
It’s Tough (10) Good effort last start and should get a run through early. Can sneak into the top three 

Race 4

T K Megastar (4) Goes ok on the track and a winning chance from the draw. Upset claims fresh
Rachmaninov (8) Ran well yesterday in fast time. Should give a good account again in this field
What The Bell (3) Has won on the track in the past. Needs to step but not the worst in an even field

Race 5

Semba (9) Good third last start in a stronger field. Top selection in this from the leading stable
Miki’s Courage (10) Went better last start and well placed here. Good each way chance in this
Auntie Deb (4) Driver change and has drawn ok here. Should get a soft trip and can sneak a place

Race 6

Zoltan Boscik (7) Good against similar fields in the past. Looks well suited to the tight track. Needed
Dreams Pat (3) Manners the key. Capable type who just needs to behave to be dangerous here.
Vertigo (4) Due to show form and drawn well here. Should land a handy spot and can run top three

Race 7

The Lazarus Effect (3) Gets a head start on main rivals. Will need manners but hard to beat if he leads
The Surfer (5) Good beginner racing well in strong fields. Can finish strongly if pace is genuine
Double Jeopardy (1) In good form and should get a good run near the speed. Top three chance

Race 8

Oscar Bonavena (12) Fastest horse in the field and will be running on. Tricky draw but can win
I Dream Of Jeannie (3) Decent motor and is drawn well here. One of the better chances
Mystic Max (1) Disappointing last start. Will continue to improve and place hope on a course he likes

Race 9

Akuta (4) Has won this race before. Draw and class make him a solid top-three player in this field
Merlin (6) Decent motor and looks well placed to grab another minor cheque if things go his way
Sooner The Bettor (2) Disappointing last start. Will continue to improve and can ping the tapes

Race 10

The Coalman (1)Speedy type who’ll appreciate a small field. Bold showing expected in this
Zoom X  (3) Quick beginner who can dictate from the front and prove hard to run down here
Berrettini (6) Stand start a mystery for him but good enough to run top three if he steps cleanly
