Harness racing hits Kaikoura again today with ten races on the card. The racing starts at 12:40pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Solemn Son (4) Has not had a lot of luck and trotting much better now. Top selection here
A Reason To Fight (7) Track might suit and should be running on. Will need manners in this
Tinkerbelle (9) Getting better with racing and only needs to step away to be a threat. Include

Race 2

Elektra King (2) Has raced better filly fields. Drawn ok here and looks an ok chance at odds
Jabberjay (1) Well drawn and has the speed to be one of the better chances. Winning claims
Captain Christian (5) Improver from his last start and small field helps. Top three chance here

Race 3

Brianna (2) In good form and good beginner which helps here. Can run top three again here
The Bloss (3) Has been disappointing but better last start. Should land close to the speed. Include
Prince Teka (6) Good beginner and could be the race leader. Can stick on for a top three finish

Race 4

The Coalman (5) Has been disappointing but dangerous with a sit near the lead. Could surprise
Shepherds Delight (8) Has early speed and should pierce through quickly. Chance if he leads
Rock Or Bust (6) Wide draw and stand manners unknown. Win chance if he goes away quickly

Race 5

Masterly (3) Racing ok and would be hard to run down if he leads. Can make his own luck
Brother Love (1) Should get a soft run and an upset chance with cover and one run at them
Vertigo (6) Quick beginner who ran home well last start. Look for a solid run in this field

Race 6

Delightful Dreams (1) Mobile and draw a big assist and top driver booked. Nice each way chance
Miki Bennett (8) Small field will help and has not had a lot of luck. Winning claims again here
Donttelltheboys (3) Will be much fitter after his last start were he looked a run short. Place claims

Race 7

Mystic Max (8) Won this race last year and getting back into form. Manners needed but can win
Midnight Dash (5) Goes ok on the track. Might need luck in the running but has to be included
Aardiebythehill (3) Has early manners normally and a chance if he can stay handy. Upset claims

Race 8

Wish Me Luck (1) Can run time and drawn well if he can only step away cleanly. Good chance
Lester (2) In good form and track suits. Should go close to placing with any luck in running
Rakero Rocket (3) Would have to lead to be any show but could be hard to run down if he does.

Race 9

Wag Star (6) Big runs the last couple of starts. Very hard to catch if he gets to the front. Include
Mo’unga (7) Decent motor and a chance with his stand start manners. Has to be respected here
Mighty Looee (3) Begins well and a rough chance with a trail in the race. One for longer odds

Race 10

The Surfer (4) Very quick beginner and drawn to be handy all the way. Good winning chance in this
Spirit Of Anarchy (6) Wider draw but better than most in this field. Can leave the gate quickly too
Courtney Rose (2) Good form last few starts should be handy all the way. Could surprise here
