Harness racing hits Manawatu again today with eight races on the card. The racing starts at 3:50pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

Mr Monty (2) Manners the key. Should go close to winning with no mistakes. Top selection
Easy McCartney (4) Has the motor and needs an error free run to show her best. Could surprise
Eagle Hanover (1) Honest and should race handy. Top three chance in this from the draw

Race 2

Boyz Invasion (7) Going for five straight and loves the track. Should be thereabouts again
Quik Sharnie (1) Drawn well and has been racing better fields. Can run top three with no mistakes
Highview Rockn Roll (8) Racing well without a lot of luck. Good chance with no mistakes

Race 3

Sweet Spirit (1) Canterbury form has been ok and stable gets them running. Top selection
Conor McGregor (4) Racing well on the track. Can run top three with minimal improvement
Jacqueline Rose (6) Wide draw but getting fitter with racing. Hard to see winning but can place

Race 4

Santanna Mach (1) Has winning form against similar fields on the track. Should go close here
Peter Forsberg (5) Good beginner who might race handy to the speed. Can stick on for a top four
Uncle Drew (8) Finished ok last start. Fence draw suits and can place with gaps in the straight

Race 5

Lady La Salle (2) Racing well on the track and should go close to beating these. Top selection
Courage Reactor (5) Has been disappointing but gets off the mobile quickly. Chance if she leads
Private Eye (1) Good here two starts ago and should be competitive in this field from the draw

Race 6

Superstar Legend (5) Has beaten similar fields here in the past. Should run top three here
Clear Left (2) Consistent form and conditions suit here. Place chance within range from the draw
Beaudiene Quick Step (4) Tidy draw and easy win last start. Could surprise at good odds in this

Race 7

Denny (4) Has early speed and looks a major player in this field. Win chance if he presses forward
Johnny Mac (5) Good enough to make his own luck in this. One of the better chances in the field
Run Mason Run (1) Drawn to get a soft run in or near the lead. Can chalk up another placing

Race 8

Ha’penny (6) Freshened but went well in a stronger field last start. Can get into the placings
Carolina Moon (5) Goes ok on the track and should be improved for this. Winning claims here
Ann Ofathousand Bays (8) Change of stable and the stable often improves them quickly. Needed
