Harness racing hits Manawatu again today with eight races on the card. The racing starts at 4:06pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

Mr Monty (2) Gets a head start on main rivals. Top driver booked and can win
Trifolium (4) Good runs in recent races. Normally steps ok and conditions suit here
Our Pegasus Pearl (3) Manners needed but a chance with a good run in transit

Race 2

Winners Time (6) Grass was not to her liking but back on grit today. Each way chance
Ngauruhoe (7) Off 20m but small field will help. Should go close to top three again
Slainte (5) Goes well on the track and can go close in this with no mistakes in the running.

Race 3

Semba (5) Stable does well on the track and much weaker field than last start. Needed
Blue Chip Lou (6) Top driver booked and a top three chance with a good run in transit
Conor McGregor (1) Drawn to be a good place hope in this. Conditions suit him here

Race 4

Secrets Abound (1) Has been good at trials and trainer respect. Top selection in this field
Rakero Scotty (8) Need to be wary of newcomers to the House team. Could surprise here
Narobi (4) Ok on debut an top driver booked. Not the worst in this and has top three claims

Race 5

Warloch (1) Drawn well and big drop in class for him. Hard to beat in this field
Victor Bravo (3) Disappointing last start but better than that. Will be running on
Rockafilly (4) Might try for the front early. Chance if she lands lead or trail here

Race 6

Superstar Legend (2) Looks the early leader and will take some catching. Top selection
Clear Left (6) Tidy run last start and conditions suit here. Will need luck but can place
Full Of Desire (9) Great course stats and follows the stablemate out. Top three claims

Race 7

Amelia Rose (10) Tricky draw but has beaten similar fields. Winning claims again here
Bettor Grunter (9) Best runs have been from the front. Top driver booked here. Include
Call Security (5) Stable does well on the track. In form and could go back to back

Race 8

Winemeup (9) Second row draw for this but has speed and in form. Include here
Voodoo Prince (6) Goes ok the track and distance suits. Top three chance again
Barbarossa (7) Draw not great but can go close to placing here. Will need luck
