Harness racing hits Marlborough again today with 12 races on the card. The racing starts at 11:45am and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

The Highlander (5) Finished well on the first day after breaking. Can run top three with manners
Georgie Zukov (11) Ok the first day and might be driven differently today. Needed in combinations
Sweet Glory (1) Getting better with racing and gets a big upgrade in draws. Chance at longer odds

Race 2

Kowhai Sunburst (11) Did too much work last start and only needs a better trip. Has to be included
Go Home Denise (10) Has late speed and will be fitter. Should give a good account again in this field
Help Me (3) Improver from his last start and same field. Can go one better with a good run in transit

Race 3

Pickettywitch (2) Looks the early leader and has been racing stronger fields. Good run expected
Itz All Over Rover (4) Ok last start and a threat to the favourite with a good run in transit. Needed
Yogi’s Colada (1) Reasonable effort last start and better draw. Can sneak into the top three here

Race 4

Penny Weight (1) Solid third last start and a winning chance again from the draw. Include
Amalfi (9) Has drawn to follow the likely early leader. Should get a soft pegs run and hard to beat
Nickel And Dime (10) Out of form but looked to have more to offer with no room first day. Roughie

Race 5

Signal Hill (4) Fought on last start against the same field. Well situated for a winning turn here.
Brian Beatt (1) Good beginner and well placed here. Good each way chance again from the draw
Manakau Blaze (5) Broke and lost all chance the first day. Only needs manners to be a major threat

Race 6

Johnny Arma (1) Broke early last start but better than that. Hard to beat if he gets away cleanly
Peraki Lad (2) Had excuses last start and well placed here. Good each way chance from ideal draw
Typhoon Tere (8) Will be fitter after last start. Wide draw but does have gate speed. Include

Race 7

Ha’penny (6) Good against after sitting parked last start. Hard to beat with cover in the race. Needed
Here Comes Marty (1) Should get a soft run handy. Winning claims from the draw. Winning claims
A Better Jackalack (8) Finished well on the pegs late on the first day and will go forward. Good chance

Race 8

Moses (8) So easy the first day to win and no harder here. Looks a good chance to make it three straight
Brother Love (6) Decent motor and normally a quick beginner. One of the better chances for a place
Nellie Doyle (9) Big effort last start after working mid race. Top three claims with a cart into the race

Race 9

Misty Blue (13) Big finish last start and will be running on again here. Extra distance but can win again
Teds Legacy (1) Decent motor and is drawn well here. One of the better chances if he can find the front
I’m Rockin (9) Late run for third last start. Continues to improve and place hope with a similar effort

Race 10

Kowhai Star (2) Easy win last start. Drawn wider here but looks a good bet with a soft run in transit
Destiny Dance (6) Wide draw but better than most in this field. Has to be respected in this field
Samvasa (4) Good effort to stick on last start and can do some work mid race. Winning claims

Race 11

Times Are A Changin (8) Has been unlucky and only needs clear air to be a big chance to win here.
Stormy Vista (1) In great form and conditions suit. Should be thereabouts again at the finish. Include
He’s A Bay (5) Likely to get a good run near the speed. Not the worst at longer odds. Top three hope

Race 12

Bruntwood Brigade (4) Took a while to wind up last start but got there. Rise in grade no issue here
Scarlett’s Legacy (5) Better than the form suggests. Better draw and has top three claims at nice odds
Farewell Spit (1) In solid form and has drawn best in this. Should give a good account again here
