Harness racing hits Methven again today with ten races on the card. The racing starts at 12:45pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Bet:  R3   Tanganyika

Best Value:  R7  Style Council

Race 1

Ultimate Rush (1) Better draw to work with here and should be improved. One of the better chances
Jay R Tolkien (10) Did ok here last time on the track. Top three chance again here with luck
Lasa (5) Well bred first starter trialing ok and should handle the grass surface. Could surprise on debut

Race 2

Brandi Snapp (12) Looks a good in form hope in this and placed on grass. Top selection in this field
Franco Elvis (6) Trainer change and placed on grass last start. Has the ability and just needs some luck
Bautista (7) Consistent form and did it too hard last start. Should give a good account on grass

Race 3

Tanganyika (7) Wide draw but has raced well on the track in the past. Chance to get a win here
Patiro (8) Has run some good races in these conditions. Disappointing last start but go again here
Izacheapee (4) Solid chance on the grass and good third last start. Has placed here in the past

Race 4

Prince Ranier (3) Goes ok on the track and better suited on grass. One for longer odds in this
Brianna (1) Tidy draw and fast on her day. Begins well and will be handy most of the way.
Brett’s Mate (7) Might be due to find some form and one for longer odds in this field.

Race 5

Taumutu Lad (2) Better for the good win last week. Should give a sight here at longer odds
Quinn (4) Wide draw but has a big reputation. Could be due to show some form. Include
Donttelltheboys (8) Tricky draw but has a fair amount of speed. No surprise to see him place

Race 6

Oscar Bonavena (6) Experienced on the track winning this race last year. Top selection
Mr Love (2) Has been outclassed the last couple. Can run top three with luck in running
Muscle Mountain (7) Wide draw but no doubting the speed he possesses. Top two chance

Race 7

Style Council (5) Has been disappointing but better than that. Top selection at longer odds
Tempo Warrior (1) Form is generally good and will handle grass ok. One of the better chances
He’s Tough (8) Normally quick away and stable is in form. Top three hope here with the right trip

Race 8

Franco Marek (10) Tidy run last start and grass suits. Pegs run likely and and can win with gaps
One Change (8) Has raced well on grass against similar fields. On the improve and one for longer odds
Mighty Looee (7) Tricky draw but better than the form suggests. Look for a good run in the conditions

Race 9

Maui (14) Grass stats fantastic and should give a good sight even from the 20m handicap. Good chance
Franco Josiah (12)Better than the form suggests. Not the worst in this at longer odds. Upset chance
Holly Highlander (4) Goes ok on the track and not far away last start. One of the better chances in this

Race 10

Auntie Deb (3) Top driver booked and good second last start. Can go one better from the good draw
Shard De Arch (5) Has placed on the track and mile will suit. Will be running on late here and can win
Sky Rocket (8) Better than the form suggests. Won here not long ago with a big finish. Go again
