Harness racing hits Methven again today with ten races on the card. The racing starts at 12:30pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Virginia Clowers (7) Racing well and should handle grass. One of the better chances in this
Connies President (9) Going well on grass and building up a good formline. Winning claims
Premium Player (5) First go on grass but has the form on the board and can go close

Race 2

Kilauea (9) Worked hard and faded last start. Tricky draw but hard to beat with luck
James Cagney (11) Likely to receive a good run through from the draw. Can run top three here
Tyrion (1) Better last start in a tough field. Place hope here at longer odds

Race 3

Beaudiene Quick Step (4) Impressive run for second last start after doing it tough. Top selection
Ambleside Drive (11) Needs to step cleanly but going nice races. Can surprise with the right trip
Michael Caine (5) Conditions suit and trainer does well on the track. Big include in this

Race 4

Times Are A Changin (13) Hasn’t had the best of luck and top driver booked. Capable of beating this field
Amarla (12) Unlucky last start and good win prior. Can surprise at longer odds. with a better run in transit
Takemybreathaway (3) Sneaks under the radar and form better than it looks. Pay to put in

Race 5

Racey Krusa (13) Goes ok on grass and did well up at Nelson. Has to rate highly in this field
Rachmaninov (8) Fit and racing well in better fields. Looks a great chance of running top three
Prince Ranier (10) Has been disappointing but grass suits and he can run a tidy at odds in the right mood.

Race 6

Ruby’s A Delight (3) Underrated mare who should get a soft trip. Hard to beat here
Tiger Taylor (8) Not racing as well as she can but can spice up the exotics if she brings her best form
Theresa Love (11) Second row draw but grass suits and she can go close to placing

Race 7

Press Play (9) Wide draw but goes well on the track and will be running on. One for longer odds
Get Back (6) Has run some good races against stronger fields recently. Winning claims in this
Jordy (1) Coming in fresh but likes the track and can go close to top three here.

Race 8

Just Holla (12) Big effort last couple but tricky draw. Winning claims with a cart into the race
Hidden Desire (1) Good beginner and grass suits. Could surprise with the right run in transit
Let’s Go Ringo (4) Will like the conditions of the race and could upset if he can lead or trail here

Race 9

Tu Tangata (10) Big on ability and looks hard to hold out here if he can trot all the way. Include
Test The Boundaries (2) Gets a better draw to work with and placed on grass. Needs luck but can win
Vertigo (11) Fast beginner and looking for three in a row. Rates highly on grass. Needed

Race 10

Sophia Bromac (12) Plenty of ability and tricky draw the only concern. Can go close with a cart into it
Sister’s Delight (1) Should get a cosy run in transit from the draw and will be running on here. Put in
Kingsdown Atom (10) Will get a soft run on the pegs and is a threat if the gaps open in the straight
