Harness racing hits Methven again today with 11 races on the card. The racing starts at 12:00pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Bet:  R4 Fear And Faith

Best Value:  R6   Festus Haggen

Race 1

Ultimate Perfection (4) Good run here when last on the track. Can run top three with no errors
Sam Snead (3) Went some good races last campaign and might suit the wet track. Include
Conquer Rock (1) Going well at workouts and change of stable. Could surprise if she handles the track

Race 2

Macho Man (3) Much better run last start and grass suits. Has to be included and top selection
Castleisland (4) Has placed on the track and only needs manners to be a big chance. Needed
B K Mumma Jamie (16) Improver from her last start and wet grass track no issue. Top three chance 

Race 3

Logan Rock (4) Mobile will help and has won here in the past. Good run expected in this field
Motor Mouth (3) Ok last start and probably the leader in the race. Can stick on for a top three
Flyaway (1) Good effort last start and better draw. Can sneak into the placings from the ace

Race 4

Fear And Faith (11) Big reputation and trainer does well here. At her best would be hard to beat
Kairaki Spur (3) Change of trainer and previous form was good. Should give a good account here
Royal Rock (12) Running on ok last start and looks a place chance at longer odds. Will need luck

Race 5

Cee Whatabet (4) Stable respect and top driver booked. Follow the money on debut. Needed
She’s A Lady (1) Has looked good at workouts and trainer in for a big day. Good each way chance
Good Time Betty (5) Change of trainer and better than the form suggests. One for longer odds

Race 6

Festus Haggen (12) Has been freshened and likes the conditions here. Winning claims at odds
Melton Magnate (11) Should get a run through from the draw. Looks a good top three chance
A Better Jackalack (7) Due to show form and wide draw the only concern. Upset claims with luck

Race 7

Call Dudley (2) Much better run for second last start. Will need manners but top selection in this
Jasprit Trouble (5) Running on ok on grass last start. Has won here in the past and is capable
Miles Away (7) In good form and will appreciate the wet track. Top three chance again here

Race 8

Tanzania (16) Wet grass track no issue and only needs a cart into the race to be a winning chance.
Kiss The Girls (15) Decent motor and has a big finish when saved for one run. Could upset here
Lester (14) Freshened and has raced much better fields. Winning claims at good odds if fit enough

Race 9

Torquay Street (7) Good beginner who is getting better with racing. One of the better chances
Paige (9) Decent motor and has been racing better fields. Hard to beat with a good run in transit
Mavis Jones (10) Disappointing last start. Will continue to improve and place hope at longer odds

Race 10

Franco Marek (9) Racing well and will love the track conditions. Should be thereabouts at the finish
Akuta (11) Tricky handicap but better than most in this field. Can out tough them if he gets handy
Dalton Shard (3) Normally a quick beginner and should land handy to the speed. Upset claims

Race 11

Beachbreak (6) Stable respect here. Can go close if he can land the front early. Top selection in this
Beaudiene Quick Step (3) Good form on grass and drawn for a cozy run on the pegs. Improver
Evidently (2) Likely to race close to the speed. Conditions might suit and could surprise if really wet
