Harness racing hits Oamaru again today with 9 races on the card. The racing starts at 1:12pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Bizza To’o (1) Not a bad run on debut and weaker field here. Can run top three with manners
Morrie Afton (4) Small field will help and should begin quickly. Recent form puts him in the mix
Calmbeforethestorm (7) Needs to get around without breaking. Win chance here if he can

Race 2

Gotta Lather Up (8) First two runs were good. Has to be included even from the wide draw
Vin’s Deal (10) Good run after breaking last start. Overdue a win and looks hard to beat in this
Easy Art (4) Improver from her last campaign and has gate speed. Top three chance at odds

Race 3

Father Mike (3) Looked slightly unlucky last start and weaker field here. Good run expected
Mikko Koivu (2) Ok last start and a threat to the favourites with a good run in transit. Include
Snooowgood (9) Big drop in class to what she has been racing. Can sneak into the top three

Race 4

Quinn (7) Winning claims if he can get handy early. Drops in class and should give a good account
Justyouwait (8) Easy win two starts ago then had no show in strong field last start. Go again here
Take The Miki (11) Coming in fresh after a long layoff but the motor is there. Might need race fitness

Race 5

Bettor Way (7) Nice win last start and a chance to go back to back in this. Has won here in the past
Normie Stead (5) Had excuses last start and top driver booked. One for longer odds in this field
The Bettor Major (6) Always running on in his races and conditions suit here. Upset chance with luck

Race 6

Bettor Belle (2) Massive drop in class. Hard to beat from her good draw and will start at short odds
Mariners Rose (7) Good second two starts ago and winning claims with top driver on. Needed here
Happy Harriet (3) First two starts had merit. Should be thereabouts with a soft run in transit. Include

Race 7

Christies Art (9) Strong finish on Show Day and weaker field here. Stable respect and should go close
Fitzthebill (5) Has been disappointing but should go close to placing with top driver on board. Needed
Cracker Opie (7) In good form and his last run was good in a stronger field. Winning claims in this

Race 8

Whispering Over (1) Racing well and gets a head start on main rivals. Stronger field but needed here
Vertigo (6) Decent motor and normally a fast beginner. One of the better chances in this field. Include
B D Hall (4) Freshened after some good runs in his last campaign. Will continue to go through the grades

Race 9

Sidorova (2) Freshened and has a bit of speed. Latest run will see her sharper and winning claims here
The Highlander (11) Decent motor and top driver on board today. One of the better chances in this
Artmore (7) Disappointing last start. Has gate speed and could give a bit of cheek if she can find the front
