Harness racing hits Oamaru again today with nine races on the card. The racing starts at 2:25pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Lester (2) Freshened since his good second on debut. Looks a leading chance here
Heaven (7) Manners not great but he has some speed. Can run top three if he steps
Eddie Osei (4) Respect the stable and has trialed ok. Winning claims in this field
Race 2
Rush (7) Has been disappointing last couple but better than that. Go again here
Barrytown (6) Battled on last start. Reliable and should be thereabouts. Include
Sunnivue Phileah (4) Better on grass but at her best would be a threat here. Could surprise
Race 3
Woodlea Jewel (2) Could be the early leader and can stick on for a place in this
Ambleside Drive (4) Getting better with racing and form is solid enough. Winning claims
Rose Noire (5) Should be nearing peak fitness after two tidy races. Pay to put in here
Race 4
Franco Cornel (3) Drawn well and should race handy to the speed. One of the major chances
Hes Santas Excuse (1) Out of form but should get a cosy run on the fence. Place chance
Taxman (7) Good beginner off the gate and could lead here. MIght stick on for a place
Race 5
Michael Caine (2) Racing well in strong fields and well drawn. Can win this with his speed
Silk (3) Goes best from the front and might be the early leader from the draw. Improver
Aiming For Glory (11) Runs the odd cracking race and drawn for a soft fence run. Include
Race 6
MM Sunshine (4) Won well when last on the course. One for longer odds in this
Royal Diedre (1) Good third at Addington and drawn to race handy. Can run top three
Cody Banner (9) Tricky draw but racing well. Top three chance if he stays trotting
Race 7
Sweet Diamond (8) Has raced well in better fields. Tough draw but has to be respected
What A Minx (5) Racing well and can surprise with the right run in transit. Needed
Mystify Me (3) In winning form and gets nice draw. Can run a cheeky race again here
Race 8
Ohoka Connor (5) Easy win again last start. Hard to beat if he can find the front again
Coney Island Lou (4) Should get a run through from the draw and can go better here.
Darby O’Gill (3) Top driver booked and had excuses last start. Trainer does well on the track
Race 9
Jack Tar (3) Racing better than the form suggests and looks a good bet in this. Needed
Ajira (4) Should get a run forward from the draw and short distance suits. Can run top three.
Classy Dancer (12) Has been unlucky but should give a good sight here. Place chance
