Omakau selections 2nd January 2024

Best Bet:  R8  Aroha Kenny

Best Value:  R6  Sinai Sermon

Race 1

Rockin Va Va (7) Worth a bet on driver stats alone. Looks hard to hold out in this
Off The Edge (9) Good efforts when against similar fields in the past. Top three chance
Sweet Spirit (6) Got the start wrong last time but can fill a top three spot in this

Race 2

Storm Cloud (2) Race form is solid and has to be a good chance in this. Needed
Special Effects (1) Change of trainer but does have some speed. Chance with no mistakes
Brianna (3) Likely to head forward early to the front. Can run top three in this. Include

Race 3

Built For Glory (13) Conditions suit here and should be improved. One of the better chances
Mighty Miki (11) Has been good at trials and could surprise with a soft run in transit
Wavewatcher (10) Speedy and drawn to sit midfield. Could go close to placing in this

Race 4

Sunshine Moment (3) Change of trainer and might be a big improver. Conditions suit here
Hooroo (9) Trailing draw for this but track should suit. Will be running on late in this
Little Biddy (8) Racing ok but wide draw here. Could surprise here if he goes forward

Race 5

Poetry In Motion (7) Out of form but better than that and top driver booked. Needed here
Oneloveonelife (6) Has been disappointing but due to strike again. Could be over the odds
Captain Meister (9) Trainer always always does well here and this one going great. Include

Race 6

Sinai Sermon (10) Hasn’t had all the luck but the track should suit. Chance with a cart into it
Rakamurph (7) Draw hurts but has the motor. Will need luck but has winning claiims
Fergalicious (1) Nice fence draw. Chance at longer odds if she gets a run in the straight

Race 7

Sheza Gift (6) On her recent third she looks a solid winning chance here. Needed
Missile  (7) Racing well and is tough. Should run top three in this and can win
Light Of Da Moon (1) Has been disappointing but could be hard to catch if she finds the front.

Race 8

Aroha Kenny (6) On her best form she is a great chance of winning here. Top selection
What The Bell (10) Racing well but wide draw. Can run top three here with the right trip
Night Watch (9) Normally holds his form when fully fit. Will not be far away here

Race 9

Franco Indie (2) Racing well and small field suits. Can lead all the way with no attackers
One Change (6) Needs the pace on but has a big finish. Could get over the top of them
Ohoka Connor (5) Could get a better run here and a good place chance with the right trip

Race 10

Majestic Man (8) Racing well and small field suits. Will likely race near the front of the field
Love N The Port (7) Needs to go forward early to have the best chance. Has to be included
Smokin Bandar (5) Could get a better run here and a good place chance with the right trip

Race 11

Beach Flybye (6) Freshened and looks a major player in this. Top selection in this field
Point Break (2) In winning form and good enough to get into the finish with luck. Include
Watermelon Sugar (9) Consistent form. Can run top three again if the pace is hot
