Harness racing hits Rangiora again today with twelve races on the card. The racing starts at 12.55pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Bet:  R9  Major Happy

Best Value:  R7  Woodlea Jewel

Race 1

George Eliot (6) Has performed well in better fields. Can run top three again here
Styx Jewel (7) Galloped last start but has the speed to be a major player. Good chance
Torvi (8) Battled on ok last start. Winning chance here with natural improvement

Race 2

Patiro (9) Wide draw but has been racing well in stronger fields. Can find form quickly
Opo (6) Freshened and not the worst if he goes forward early. One for longer odds
Gatecrasher (14) Fair last start in a strong field. Better suited here and can run top three

Race 3

Festus Haggen  (3) Has the form on board and looks a good chance to run top three again
Sophia’s Dream (8) Good at trials on the track. Has to be included and can win on debut
Verducci (10) Tidy second last start and will be running on late in this. Winning claims

Race 4

Treacherous Baby (13) Has been racing better fields and top driver booked. Needed here
Follow Your Dream (4) Freshened and conditions suit in this field. Hard to beat
Good Time Betty (1) Nice draw and should get a cosy run. Looks a good place hope

Race 5

Love Is Everywhere (8) Mobile and sprint trip suit. Can get into the placings with luck
Murano (14) Terrible draw but getting fitter with racing. Chance with a cart into the race.
Ginas Majesty (11) Has been disappointing but due to show some form. One for longer odds

Race 6

Fernz Goldy (3) Strikes a good draw and better than form suggests. Chance at longer odds
Flo Motion (6) Racing well and likely to racehandy. Needs the right trip but include here
Betterwithbling (4) Good run last start and a big improver for this. Can go close in this

Race 7

Woodlea Jewel (7) Nice effort last start from the back. Should be improved for this. Include
Fergalicious (4) Previous winner on the track and good draw. Stable firing so needed
Foveaux Gambler (3) Ok last start. Should be thereabouts if he can stay handy

Race 8

Natives Inferno (3) Good second last start and looks a major player in this. Top selection
Aiguille (12) Better last start and should improve. Tricky draw but has top three claims
Majesdix (6) Has been freshened but has been ok at trials. Has to be respected in this

Race 9

Major Happy (1) Has been unlucky and driver change for this. Top selection from the draw
Judine (4) Good third last start. Good draw and can run top three again with luck
Tremendous Lover (2) Good form and likes to race handy. Top three player again

Race 10

Absolute Dynamite (9) Has the ability but needs the right trip. Good chance if he leads
Star Magic (11) Galloped last start when mounting a run. At his best would be a chance
Kennedy (3) Good beginner but track stats not great. Place chance at longer odds

Race 11

Illegal Alien (2) Track will suit and good beginner. Likely leader who can give a sight
DD’s Super Stuart (1) Due to strike form again. Draw suits and has winning claims
Waihemo Hannah (10) Form has tapered off but better than that. Could surprise here

Race 12

Sargent Best (3) Has been unlucky and driver change. Looks a good bet in this field. Needed
Moonlite Dream (6) Better than the form suggests. Likely leader in this with a good chance
Topaz (10) Ok last start and fence run might suit. Can place with gaps in the straight. Include
