Harness racing hits Reefton again today with twelve races on the card. The racing starts at 11:35am and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

Signal Hill (2) Tidy effort for second at Westport and getting fitter. Can run top three with manners
Bevron (8) Speedy beginner who might be the race leader. Can stick on for a top three placing
Inquizitive Man (3) Worked hard in the running last start. One for longer odds with a better trip

Race 2

Elegant Achiever (7) Good finish last start and looks a chance of going one better here. Needed
Mikra Wave (6) Good efforts at trials and slightly unlucky at Westport. Will start as favourite
Lay On Macduff (3) Manners usually pretty good. Could stick on for a place on this track.

Race 3

Majestic Whisper (10) Running on late at Westport. Needs to land closer and can go close
Ginas Majesty (4) Reliable and grass suits. Can run top three here with a good run in transit
Noah Magnific (1) Drawn well and has a bit of speed. Has to be included at longer odds here

Race 4

Itz All Fired Up (11) Drawn wide but goes well on grass. Chance with a cart into the race
Destiny’s Dream (5) Good fourth at Westport. Win chance with a similar trip. Include
Samvasa (3) Out of form but much better draw here. Can produce a nice finish if close enough.

Race 5

What A Minx (1) Slim grass stats but big upgrade in draw. Should go close to winning this
Dennis Denuto (2) Trailing draw here. Win chance with gaps in the straight. Include
Topaz (4) Downgrade in class for this and nice draw. Grass suits and has to be respected.

Race 6

Foveaux Gambler (3) Conditions suit here and normally steps ok. One of the better chances
Rapid Response (5) Grass suits and a quick beginner from a stand. Will go forward early
Ruby’s A Delight (10) Better run last start and just needs to step cleanly to be a top three chance

Race 7

Apatchofgold (2) Unlucky at Westport and good enough to win this with the right trip. Needed
Executive Banner (10) Hasn’t had much form in recent runs but better than that. One for odds
Raging Whitebait (5) Better draw for this but slim grass stats. Give another chance here

Race 8

Helloveamoment (4) Speedy beginner who might be the race leader. Could surprise in this
Boyz Invasion (5) Gets a head start on the favourite. Needs to step and run but can win
Prince Teka (3) At his best would go close to placing. Quick beginner with top three claims

Race 9

Sailor Boy (2) Uncharacteristic gallop last start. Hard to hold out with a faster beginning
Smart I Am (6) Very impressive last start. A repeat effort will take him close here. Needed
Fourth Amendment (7) Normally begins quickly. Top three chance if he can get handy early

Race 10

Boudica (8) Conditions suit and big drop back in grade for this. Fast beginner who can win
Mo’unga (11) Flashed home late at Westport. Only needs a better trip to be hard to beat
Just Ask Paddy (4) Grass suits and not the worst if he can get handy in the race. Needed

Race 11

Sods Law (7) Track will suit and should go forward early. Chance of going back to back here
Our Pegasus Pearl (8) Good recent form and conditions suit. Would have to include again here
Buffy Northstains (3) Will get a soft run handy to the pace. Can run top three with luck

Race 12

Hope For Love (5) Tidy finish at Westport and better draw here. Should back up ok and can win
Ebury Street (1) Likely to get a soft run on the pegs for this. Will need gaps but has claims
Judgement Bay (2) Gate speed and probably the race leader. Can stick on for a place again here
