Harness racing hits Timaru again today with ten races on the card. The racing starts at 11:40am and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Bet:  R3 Here Comes Jane

Best Value:  R4  Rutherford

Race 1

Loveyou To Da Skye (8) Unlucky last start and top driver booked. Big chance if he steps
Sweet Lady Jane (6) Running home late last start and could surprise in this. Needed
Pandemic (4) Good debut in stronger field and drawn ok. Winning claims with manners

 

Race 2

Commander Joe (5) Freshened but good in stronger fields last campaign. Top selection
Ambleside Drive (2) Has form and likely to head forward. One of the better chances in this
Auntie Deb (7) Hasn’t had all the luck and with the right trip is one for longer odds here

 

Race 3

Here Comes Jane (4) Has come back looking stronger and nearly won last start. Can win
Luvavici (6) Tricky draw but due to strike form for new trainer. Can run top three here
Starlight Gazer (2) Better last start and small field will help. Might sneak a place at odds.

 

Race 4

Rutherford (4) Hasn’t had all the luck and strikes a good draw. Can improve here.
Heaven (1) Previous form is good. Running on last start and one of the main players
Keltic Tiger (11) Not much luck last start but ran home quickly. Has a big finish. Needed

Race 5

Millies Sensation (5) Has been racing similar fields the last few starts. Winning claims
Spirited Lou (1) Freshened and drawn the ace. Should go close to top three in this
Touch N Go (6) Looks better suited here and has a bit of gate speed. Worth throwing in

 

Race 6

Not Over (2) Drawn well and in good form for this. Conditions suit and has winning claims
Zia Bromac (8) Good beginner who will head forward early. Top driver booked and needed
Justin Fun (1) Racing well in better fields. Chance at longer odds from the good draw

 

Race 7

Sargent Best (7) Going for a double up in this. Small field will help and can win again
Verlander (2) Disappointing last start but is one of the main chances here. Needed
Wolf Of Wall Street (6) Freshened for this and has the motor to compete with these.

 

Race 8

Tanzania (6) Running on well last start at Addington. Has good course stats for this
Lester (1) Always unlucky but draw suits. Any sort of room gives him a chance late
The Coalman (4) Better last start and getting fitter. Begins well and has winning claims

 

Race 9

Boyz Invasion (7) Has been racing ok in strong fields Will be running on late in this. Include
Cappaha (1) Getting better with racing. Good draw and mobile suits. Possible leader here
What The Bell (10) No form but has been breaking and gets a mobile assist. Can improve

 

Race 10

Jazzys Upstart (2) Not far away on debut. Drawn well and stable in form. Good chance
Shannon B (11) Should get a run through at the start. One for longer odds in this. Include
Eyeliner (3) Likely to race close to the speed here. No star but good enough to go close here
