Harness racing hits Timaru again today with 11 races on the card. The racing starts at 12:10pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Bet:  R1  Prestigious

Best Value:  R10  Buffy Northstains

Race 1

Prestigious (12) Big effort on debut. Improver who should run top three here with manners
Majestic Monkey (4) Has been beginning quickly and can give a good account from the draw
Terry Webster (15) Better than the form suggests. Manners needed but upset claims at longer odds

Race 2

Tayrona (4) Debut runner from powerful stable. Big watch on tote here and has to be respected.
Ultimate Perfection (8) Racing well and ran home well last start. One for longer odds in this
Longview Tui (6) Improver from her last start and weaker field. Top three chance if she goes forward

Race 3

Sadie (7) Galloped on grass but was a good trial winner previously. Better run expected in this
Melton Enforcer (6) Ok last campaign and a threat to the favourites with a good run in transit
Bannockburn (3) Change of stable since last racing and can sneak into the top three with luck

Race 4

Pasternak (1) Solid third last start and a winning chance from the draw with no mistakes. Include
Call Dudley (7) Uncharacteristic gallop last start. Previous form good and hard to beat if he steps
Amendment (13) Out of form but an improver with winning claims with no errors mid race.

Race 5

Delightful Dreams (6) Fought on last start in a stronger field. Top selection in this line up
Sans Repos (3) Freshened after tidy win last start. Conditions suit and good each way chance
Carlin (8) Will be fitter after last start. Has ability and one for longer odds in this field

Race 6

Freeze Frame (1) Good against a way tougher field last start. Hard to beat from the ace draw
Utah Blaze (9) Should get a soft run handy. Opened at good odds and can run top three
 Get Seaside Lucky (7) Wide draw but racing well in good fields. Can do some work mid race

Race 7

Zoom X (1) Gets a head start on the favourites. Will need manners but could surprise here
Riptide (7) Tricky draw but should go close to placing in this with no errors in the running
The Coalman (12) Normally a good beginner but tricky draw. Top three chance with luck

Race 8

Scrunch (1) Good draw and will get a soft trip. Looks hard to beat based on previous runs
Artful Bromac (4) Decent motor and is drawn well here. Can run top three fresh up. Needed
Caloriefree (6) Disappointing last start but looks well placed in this. Will continue to improve

Race 9

Hadron Collider (15) Fastest horse in the field and will be running on. Tricky draw but can win
Got You Covered (7) Decent motor and is drawn well here. Stand start suits and top three chance
Semba (5) Disappointing last start but at his best would be an outside hope. One for longer odds

Race 10

Buffy Northstains (8) Has well raced in better fields. Conditions suit and win chance at longer odds
Miles Away (9) Wide draw but better than most in this field. Top three player with the right trip
Silvester (7) Freshened and has trialed ok. Could surprise with a quick beginning. Include in this

Race 11

McKendrick (6) Track suits and will go forward early. At his best would dominate this field. Include
Hi Life (7) Good run for second last start and looks a solid top three chance with a favourable trip
Wavewatcher (5) Has gate speed and likely to race close to the speed here. Place chance at longer odds
