Harness racing hits Timaru again today with eight races on the card. The racing starts at 1:13pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

Rockin Va Va (7) Wide draw but drops in class and strike rate driver. Has to rate highly
Knockshanbally (1) Drawn to be a threat if he can trail all the way. Can sneak a place
Get It On (4) Has come back ok this term and has the ability. One for longer odds

Race 2

Fight For Freedom (6) Big reputation and looks primed for a fresh up win. Hard to beat
Cappaha (7) Good trial win recently and is a danger to the favourite. Needed here
Portelli (1) Drawn well and can trot a nice last half mile. Right in it if fully fit

Race 3

Whatablaze (8) Better than most of these and trainer has a good record on the track Include
Kiwi Hero (10) Has been a bit average but might get under punters guard here. Win chance
Gliding High (12) Starting to put it all together now. Should be running home well here

Race 4

Hit The Beach (3) Has been racing well in stronger fields. Can go on with it here. Needed
Killarney Dance (8) Coming in fresh and ran some top races last campaign. Winning claims
Corfu Bromac (2) Has a nice draw and racing well. Can run top three with luck

Race 5

Yankee Jay (8) Quick beginner and a good chance from the front row. Needed
Let’s Go Ringo (3) Big finish last start and extra distance helps. Go again in this field
Megarock (6) Out of form but normally a fast beginner. Could surprise at longer odds

Race 6

Bondi Lustre (6) Back on grit and likely to go forward in this. Top selection in this field
Fitzthebill(2) When right is very speedy. Can run top three if he finds the markers
King Arthur (8) Ok last start and has gate speed. Could lead for a long way

Race 7

Tres Magnifique (10) Good beginner with top driver booked. Should go close to top three
Ruthless Lizzie (4) Manners a concern but a big finisher with the right trip. Win chance
Fast Whispering (14) Has raced well on course in the past. Could surprise with a good trip

Race 8

Press Play (9) Big finish last start but wide draw. Good enough to make his own luck
Victor Bravo (6) Tricky draw but has been unlucky recently. Include here at good odds
Heez Good (10) Rails draw and top driver booked. Should be able to compete with these.
