Harness racing hits Timaru again today with 8 races on the card. The racing starts at 3:00pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

Jazzys Upstart (1) Has not had much luck in recent starts and drawn to suit here. Should run top three
Georgie Zukov (3) Small field will help and should begin quickly. Can stick on if he finds the front
Gotta Lather Up (2) Getting better with racing and will lob a handy position here. Winning claims

Race 2

Heza Cool Dude (2) Galloped last start but ran home well late. Has to be included with top driver booked
Chocolate Angus (5) Has early speed to be one of the leaders and will be fitter. Tidy second last start
Kingaroy (13) Improver from his last start but handicap will make it tough. Top three chance with luck

Race 3

Dawn To Dark (7) This race looks ideal as he should be able to get a lot closer early with the small field.
Hugo (2) Disappointing last start but can lead here and will be hard to beat. Worth including in this
Salute (6) Ok effort last start and getting fitter now. Can sneak into the top three with luck in running

Race 4

Blaze Craze (2) Solid fifth last start and a winning chance here from the draw. One of the better chances
Iamthecaptainnow (7) Has gate speed and previous form has been ok. Should give a good account
Art Jordan (5) Out of form but improver with a place chance at longer odds if he goes forward early

Race 5

Lonnekers (7) Fought on best last start in a similar field. Top selection in this and can go back to back
Sans Repos (2) Had excuses last start and well placed here. Driver change and good each way chance
Stormy Vista (4) Will be fitter after last start. Stand start suits and will go forward here. Needed

Race 6

Mr Cash Man (5) Has been racing only fairly but has raced well in stronger fields. Top selection in this
Major Happy (6) Had excuses last start and well placed here. Good each way chance in this grade
Times Are A Changin (8) Will be fitter after last start. Due to get back into form and has to be included

Race 7

Almighty (8) Disappointing on the grass last start. Hard to beat against this lot back on the grit surface
Petite Trixton (5) Should get a soft run handy. Winning claims and is in great form at the moment
Barrytown (6) Due to show form and look for an improved effort on a track he races well at. Needed

Race 8

Hey Tonight (1) Toughest horse in the field but a bit one paced. Top driver booked and will be running on.
Courage Reactor (2) Drawn well here. One of the better chances after a good second last start. Include
Playing With Stars (10) Has been ok but better placed on grit tracks. Upset claims with any gaps here.
