Harness racing hits Oamaru again today with eleven races on the card. The racing starts at 11:55am and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Fourth Amendment (5) Has raced well in better fields recently. One for longer odds in this
Nyla (8) Driver has a good record in amateur races. Has to be hard to beat here. Needed
Ruby’s A Delight (3) Didn’t get all favours last start but stuck on. Easier here and good chance

Race 2

Practical Magic (8) Good run after working last start and driver change for this. Top selection
Imperial Command (10) Getting better with racing. Might look for the front. Place chance
Diamond Harbour (9) Freshened and not the worst with manners. Could surprise here 

Race 3

Cutie (6) Nice trialist from a stable that can get them home on debut. Top selection here
Cruising Fontana (2) Likely to go forward early. Can run top three with a better run in transit
Tinder Rose (3) No form but trained locally and did go ok on grass at Cromwell. Include

Race 4

Interpol (7) Tough effort in a similar field last start. Hard to beat with any luck in the race
Spectator (9) Good beginner who might press on early for the front. Winning claims with a lead
Lay On Macduff (1) Drawn well and could stick for a place at longer odds with a trail. Roughy

Race 5

Brianna (1) Drawn to take advantage early. Should race handy and grass suits in this. Needed
Illegal Alien (7) Good beginner. Winning claims with a soft run in front and no attackers
Mentalist (13) Disappointing last start but not the worst if he brings better manners.  Include

Race 6

Smart I Am (3) Normally a good beginner and looks a much improved pacer. Top selection
Vinita Rose (4) Conditions suit and manners the only key with her. Chance if she steps early
Georgie Zukov (7) Has raced better fields and small field will help. Can place fresh up

Race 7

Brother Love (6) Wider draw but finished on ok last start after an error. Can run top three
Dwindle Star (4) Fast beginner who goes best from the front. Possible leader with claims
Buffy Northstains (3) Tough run last start and in form. Nice draw and a solid top three chance

Race 8

Smoke On The Water (9) Has been unlucky the last couple and conditions suit here. Needed
Mo’unga (7) Has been finishing on the last couple and extra distance should be ideal. Include
Homebush Lad (10) This looks easier than last start. Grass distance races are his bread and butter

Race 9

Sargent Best (8) Good in a similar field last start and grass suits. Hard to hold out here
Expressive Love (6) Freshened and has gate speed. Chance at longer odds if she goes forward
Paradise Valley (1) Draw helps and should get a soft run near the speed. Top three chance

Race 10

Vertigo (4) Fast beginner and should give a good account from the good draw. Needed
Pyramid Mystic (2) Getting fitter with racing and a top three chance from the draw. Include
Lil Miss Muscles (1) Racing well and conditions suit. Definitely a top three chance

Race 11

Dennis Denuto  (8) Track will suit and should lead early here. Good top three chance again here
Lord Fantasy (1) Might land a soft run on the pegs here. Can muster a place with gaps. Include
Bismarck Du Plessis (3) Going well on grass and has travelled a fair way for this. Winning claims
