Harness racing hits Timaru again today with 11 races on the card. The racing starts at 11:50am and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Flyaway (10) Goes well on grass and suited here. Can run top three with a good trip. Needed
Blazing Knuckles (13) Has been racing stronger fields and looks well placed here. Good chance
Samvasa (1) Getting better with racing and gets the ace draw to work with here. Place chance

Race 2

Neil William (4) Better for debut third and can go a another good race here. Has to be included
Brightman (1) Will be fitter and likely to get a soft run on the pegs here. Top three chance in this
Chocolate Angus  (9) Debut runner with good trial form and grass should suit. Winning claims

Race 3

Antisocial (7) Top run on grass at Methven on debut and weaker field here. Good run expected
Resurgamus (4) Ok last start and a threat to the favourite with a good run in transit. In the mix
Art Jordan (1) Freshened and has the ace draw. Can sneak into the top three with luck in transit

Race 4

Tallandfast (2) Solid third last start and a winning chance again from the draw. Top selection
Carrera Vamos (7) Stable respect for this. No form but no surprise to see him run an improved race
Fear The Diva (4) Gets her chance in a weaker field and drawn to play a major part here. Needed

Race 5

Swift Guy (7) Fought on last start in a stronger field. Will head forward and can fight out the finish
Blackjack (12) Had excuses last start and well placed here. Good each way chance from tricky draw
Hes Santas Excuse (2) Will be fitter after last start forth. Tidy draw and worth including in this field

Race 6

Miles Away (17) Tricky handicap but trained locally and has claims if put into the race. Hard to beat
Val Thorens (5) Should get a soft run handy. Win chance from the draw. Include in all combinations
Prince Ranier (1) Freshened and drawn well here. Goes ok on grass and one for longer odds in this

Race 7

Kushite Warrior (2) Gets a head start on the favourites. Will need manners but could surprise here
He’s A Bay (12) Tricky draw but should go close to placing in this with a quick start. One for odds
Festus Haggen (8) No form but grass suits and top three chance if he makes a quick beginning

Race 8

Motor Mouth (7) Fastest horse from the mobile in the field and will head forward early. Good chance
Beachbreak (11) Decent motor and due to find a bit of form. Stable respect here. Top three player
To Ri Ruby (1) God win at big odds last start. Will continue to improve and place hope again here

Race 9

Bryce’s Meddle (8) Conditions suit and will be running on. Winning claims at longer odds here
Tanzania (12) Decent motor and goes well in the grass cups. Top three claims with the right trip
Hacksaw Ridge (5) Good win last start but up in class. Will continue to improve and place hope again 

Race 10

Holly Highlander (5) Has raced better fields and normally a quick beginner. Looks a good place bet.
Mavis Jones (8) Wide draw but better than most in this field. Has to be respected and grass suits
Love Walked In (11) Good finish last start and can do some work mid race. Capable at her best

Race 11

A Better Jackalack (7) Grass suits and easy win last start. Can go close here with a soft lead
Nasana (6) Good form on grass and speedy when saved for one run. Needed in all combinations
Lavra Rose (10) Likely to race close to the speed here with a run through early. Winning claims
