Harness racing hits Westport again today with nine races on the card . The racing starts at 1.56pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Best Bet:  R7  Deceptive Lee

Best Value:  R10  Mavis Jones

Race 1

Billy Kimber (11) Best recent form in the race. Can run top three here with manners. Include
Royal Ahearn (1) Plenty of speed when trotting. Manners needed but can go close in this field
Rosary (4) Has had a few chances but is improving. Place chance with a good run in transit

Race 2

Here Comes Jane (8) Out of form but better than that. Hard to run down if she leads in this
Brianna (11) Good beginner who goes well on grass and will be fitter. One for longer odds
Moa Mojito (13) Driver change and has won on the track. Gear change and upset chance here

Race 3

Sweet Betty (7) Running places at Methven trials and on debut here. Good run expected
Ar Gee Rulz (3) Finished on last start after getting back early. Better here with a good trip
Rule Again (2) Freshened and better than his last start 6th. Can sneak into the top three here

Race 4

Sweet Glory (11) Solid run last start and a winning chance here if she gets a run through early
Apatchofgold (3) Running some nice races in recent starts. Should give a decent sight in this
Ford Rule (5) Does well on the course and will go forward early. Good top three chance here

Race 5

Stanley’s Rule (8) Out of form but conditions will suit here. Wide draw the only concern in this
Pure Courage (11) Mobile suits and not far away last few starts. Can run top four in this field
Franco Hoffman (6) Will be fitter after last start. Trainer respect and could surprise with luck

Race 6

Love Walked In (10) Got back and ran on against a way tougher field last start. Include here
Grettymac (12) Tricky handicap but does have a good motor. Winning claims with a good trip.
Martha Stuart (6) In good form and should get a position near the speed. One of the main hopes

Race 7

Deceptive Lee (8) Draw hurts but form says he can run top three again. Win chance with luck
Peraki Seelster (5) Good third last start and can make his own luck in this. One for odds here
Francent (9) Huge run last start. Will continue to improve and can go back to back in this

Race 8

Gimmesomelovin (5) Freshened for this and in good form. Will need manners but in the mix
Normie Stead (7) Tricky draw but has improved with new trainer. Should go close to placing
Miracle Memphis (2) Should get a good run near the speed. Top three chance but short odds

Race 9

Smoke On The Water (11) Has beaten much better fields in the past. Tricky handicap for this
Piccadilly Pete (10) Loves the track and due to regain form. One of the better chances in this field
Got You Covered (2) Has been thereabouts. Gets a head start on favourites and could upset

Race 10

Mavis Jones (5) Good finish last start and looks a good bet if she gets a soft trip. Needed here
One El (7) Wide draw but better than most in this field. Can go back to back with a quick start
Premium Player (8) Went massive when last on the track. Do not dismiss in this even lineup. 

Race 11

Razors Edge (10) Grass suits and has won on the track. Will be running on late in this. Include
Gliding High (2) Good form on grass and drawn for a cozy run on the pegs. Winning claims
Rapid Response (5) Likely to race close to the speed here. Could surprise with a quick start
