Harnesslink October Tour | North American Harness Racing Experience

Harnesslink’s CEO, John Curtin, is excited to unveil his latest North American tour for harness racing fanatics looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Having previously led successful tour groups over a decade ago, a recent visit inspired Curtin to recast his Harnesslink tour group in the rapidly changing and expanding North American market.

The October tour will encompass a VIP harness racing experience with every aspect of the North American harness racing industry covered. From yearling sales, to stud farms, stakes racing to tourist destinations, the Harnesslink North American Harness Racing Experience will see you soaking up all the thrills and spills on offer over an epic 28 days.

John Curtin has tapped into his extensive North American knowledge and network developed over 40 years of brokering some of the biggest standardbred transactions in the industry. Few know the North American scene as well as JC and it his dream and vision to share the experience with harness racing followers from Down Under who have long dreamed of ticking North America off the harness racing bucket list.

At this stage, bookings will be limited to the first 20 individuals/partners to ensure the experience is that of a VIP.

All travel/accommodation arrangements and farm/track visits will be taken care of by Harnesslink and its wonderful travel agent of over 30 years allowing you the comfort and peace of mind to fully soak in the experience.

The below itinerary is preliminary and subject to minor changes, but this is what those interested parties can expect from the once in a lifetime opportunity.

1^st October

• Departure from Auckland Sunday night for Houston, stopover, then onto:
• Cincinnati, Ohio airport, then by Bus to Lexington Hotel. Arrival at Lexington Hotel around 1:30 am Monday 2^nd October.

2^nd of October through to Monday morning the 9^th of October

• Lexington Selected Yearling Sale at Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion, every day, Monday to Friday.
• Major Stake Racing at the Red Mile – 6^th, 7^th, 8^th, Starting at 1 pm each day. (Sales continue at night)

4th October

• VIP Tour of Diamond Creek Farm, Lexington, Kentucky.
• Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

5th October

• VIP Tour of Kentuckiana Farms, Lexington, Kentucky.
• TaylorMade Stallions.
• Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

6^th October

• $275,000 International stallion stakes for 2yo colt trotters and 2yo filly pacers.
• Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

7^th October

• $250,000 International stallion stakes for 2yo colt pacers and 2yo filly trotters.
• Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

8^th October

Major stakes racing at the Red Mile, Lexington, Kentucky.

• The $475,000 Kentucky Futurity – 3yo trotters Open
• The $275,000 Kentucky Filly Futurity – 3yo filly trotters
• The $400,000 Tattersalls 3yo Open
• The $225,000 Glen Garnsey for 3yo filly pacers

9^th October

AM depart to Wakarusa, Indiana to Kountry Lane Standardbreds by bus, BBQ at Kountry Lane Standardbreds, home to Horse of the Year Shartin N ($2,667,563) and world champion mares, Lyons Sentinel ($2,300,000), Western Silk ($1,729,708), Plunge Blue Chip ($1,596,841), Custom Cantab ($1,036,103) and several other top mares including Soho Burning Love A, Seaswift Joy N and Bettor Joy N, etc.

10^th October

Visit Premier Acres stud farm then onto Berlin, Ohio, the capital of Amish Country, afternoon to Berlin, Ohio Hotel.

11^th & 12^th October

Two full days in Berlin, Ohio. The Capital of Amish Country!
