Top New South Wales harness racing driver Cameron Hart sent a stern warning to his New Zealand rivals this week.
Before leaving Sydney, Hart landed a treble at Menangle on Tuesday on the back of a double at Bankstown on Monday, giving him one of the highest winning strike rates in Australia this season.
The 23-year-old reinsman will have his first overseas drive today at Cambridge Raceway, NZ, when he takes the reins behind Majestic Cruiser in The Race.
The $NZ900,000 feature is the first harness racing slot race in Australasia and Majestic Cruiser is the only horse drawn the back row.
Taking on fellow Australian-associated pacers in Stylish Memphis, Alta Orlando and Mac Dan, Majestic Cruiser is an outside chance the favourite Self Assured.
The driver with the highest winning strike rate in the country this year is Jack Trainor who will drive Stylish Memphis in The Race.
Back on home soil the time-honoured Renshaw Cup takes place at Penrith tonight where Trainor has Chevron Art engaged.
Jason Grimson, the trainer of Majestic Cruiser, has a two-pronged attack in the $50,000 feature with Stingray Tara and Egodan.
Trotters will also feature at Penrith tonight with an 11-horse field in the The Trotters Cup.
