It’ll be a short trip for Waikouaiti harness racing trainer Amber Hoffman when she takes a small team of four to the Oamaru meeting tomorrow.
The Last McGuire (Creatine) broke and lost all chance when debuting at Winton and has been moved to the unruly in Race One.
“She just needs to trot and should be there abouts,” Hoffman said.
Ultimate Mach (Ultimate Machete) debuted at Winton in August finishing seventh. Her has been back to the workouts since. He gets a nice draw in Race Three.
“His work has been good but he’s still a bit green and learning the game.”
Trotter Makaku (Majestic Son) broke at his last start, finishing well back. In Race Six he starts off the unruly from the twenty metre mark amid a large field.
“He needs to bring his manners. It’s a tough race for him but I’d like to see him trot.”
Ultimate Challenge (Bettor’s Delight) raced at Addington two starts ago, finishing fourth behind the classy Mr Kaplan. At her last start she got checked at the 400 and just battled after that.
“She was going okay before she got checked. She’s well, so should go an honest race.”
Hoffman also has two runners at Sunday’s Wyndham meeting.
Life Of Art (Art Major) takes his place in Race Nine. He struck a knee at his last start finishing last.
“He needs to improve on his last start. I want to see him running on.”
Jovial Jay (Sweet Lou) didn’t get too much racing room at his last start, finishing fifth. Sunday’s field in Race Ten looks easier.
“He went okay last week, just blew out, so I’m hoping for a better run from him.”
