Animal welfare and the work of the Horse Ambulance Trust will be firmly in the harness racing spotlight at Addington Raceway on Friday night.

Global horse transporters IRT is sponsoring the meeting with their “IRT Supports Horse Welfare Race Night”.
The aim of the night is to spread the word about the trust and also raise money to go towards its operation. They will be collection buckets at the Spectators bar on course and funds will also hopefully be raised though a series of bets to be put on chosen racing media personalities. They will be given $300 betting vouchers to spend on their own sponsored races.
Well-known racing journalist Michael Guerin has named his race the Janice Guerin Memorial after his late mum and has matched the $300 with $300 of his own money. All proceeds will go the Horse Ambulance Trust.
