Harness racing trainer Regan Todd has trained Bettor Talk Art into a huge boilover in tonight’s 50th running of the (Gr1) NZ Breeders Stakes at Addington Raceway.
Bettor Talk Art (Bettor’s Delight) was unwanted by the public and paid a massive $37.30 on the tote when beating a quality field of fillies and mares in the hands of driver Robbie Close.
‘It was a big thrill and good for Regan and the owners and the horse,” Robbie Close said after the race.
“She tries so hard and has never run out of the top five,” he said.
Bettor Talk Art beat a game Need You Now by three quarters of a length in the filies and mares feature, with a further nose back to a closing Callie’s Delight in third.
Later in the night Onedin Miki (Always B Miki) remained unbeaten making it three wins from three starts when downing a tidy field for driver Olivia Thornley.
Onedin Miki came from well back in the race and ran a last half in 55.6 to beat the Greg & Nina Hope trained Celtic Spirit by three quarters of a length.
