Delitfulcatherin N continued her conquest of Yonkers Raceway on Wednesday with her fifth straight harness racing victory since shipping in from New Zealand.
Daniel Dube guided the Bettors Delight mare into the vacant three-hole while banking into the first turn. Leader Larjon Leah (Jim Marohn Jr.) took a breather after a :27.1 first panel, cutting a :56 half-mile time. Delitfulcatherin N embarked on her path to victory in the third quarter as she slid out of third and moved up to challenge the leader.
Larjon Leah was initially slow to mobilize and lost her lead at three-quarters in 1:23.4, but she battled on into the final turn where she saved ground via inside positioning and briefly regained the lead. Delitfulcatherin N was unstoppable though, and she kicked away from her tired foe to a three-length 1:53.1 lifetime-best victory.
Easy To Please (Jordan Stratton) emerged late for the place spot. Chelski (George Brennan) followed the winnerās cover and took show. The win price was $2.60.
DELITFULCATHERIN N REPLAY
Delitfulcatherin N is perfect through five starts after moving to the United States earlier this season. The mare was three-for-17 in her New Zealand career but is now eight-for-22. Deborah Daguet trains her for D Racing Stable Inc of Middletown, Yves Sarrazin of La Presentation, and Donald Mac Rae of Vernon Bridge.
Yonkers Raceway will continue with mid-week action on Thursday, Sep. 16. The 12-race program features a $48,000 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace. First post is set for 7:35 p.m. EDT.
