Ladies and Gentlemen, please raise your glasses………

11 April 2024
in Australia, New Zealand
by Llowalong farms and Northern Rivers Equine

To Volstead standing at Llowalong farms, Victoria, Australia.

Volstead (Cantab Hall x Madam Volo) is leaving winners everywhere in Australia, New Zealand and in the US. At Bendigo alone on Wednesday night he had 12 starters for 3 winners, two seconds and two thirds in the Nutrien Classic 2 and 3 year old Trotting race series.

Volstead

The finals are to be conducted on the 20th of April with expectations for a similar dominance by the sire. The winners were Derek the Jet (Trained and driven by Nathan Jack), We Can Have It All (trained by Jayne Davies and driven by Chris Alford) and Enchauffour (trained by Anton Golino and driven by Nathan Jack). That takes Derek The Jet to three starts for three wins and We Can Have It All, 9 starts for three wins, a second and a third and includes the $40000 listed win in NZ in 2023.

Something you may not know about Volstead: What does the name Volstead mean? Where does it come from? It refers to the Volstead Act in US law, enacted in 1919 to enforce the prohibition. Namely the prohibition of the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages.

So, in light of that meaning, please raise your glasses to the freakish proven sire in Volstead and his return to Australian shores to service the Australian and New Zealand market with fresh chilled semen in 2024.

A service fee will be announced soon, but places will fill quickly, so please contact:

Dr. Kath McIntosh on 0427 497 429 or;

email kath@nrequine.com.au or Llowalongfarms@nrequine.com.au for bookings and enquiries from both Australia and New Zealand!
