Lazarus heading for cup glory again

29 nominations have been taken for this years Christchurch Casino New Zealand Trotting Cup the same number of nominations taken in 2016.

Last years winner Lazarus is among the nominations along again along with six of his stable mates from the All Stars Stable of Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen.

Lazarus won last years Cup by over ten lengths in a world record time of 3:53.1 for the 3200m standing start race. This year he will be joined by Dream About Me,Heaven Rocks, Have Faith In Me, Waikiki Beach, Piccadilly Princess and Cash N Flow all from the powerful All Stars Stable.

Tiger Tara second in last years New Zealand Cup is now Australian owned and racing with merit in Australia. He is among the nominations for this years cup and will be in Christchurch for the great race depending on transport availability.

Others from last years race to be nominated again are Titian Banner, No Doctor Needed, Moonrock and Have Faith In Me.

This years Christchurch Casino New Zealand Trotting Cup has a stake of $800,000 while the 2017 Haras des Trotteurs Dominion Handicap will carry a stake of $300,000.
