The New Jersey Sire Stakes kicks off at the Meadowlands this Friday (Jun. 24) with three $30,000 harness racing divisions for two-year-old pacers and chances are the winners will be sired by Lazarus N.
Of the 32 freshman pacers competing in the three divisions, 28 are sired by Lazarus N. Sires Keystone Velocity and Lis Mara each have two.
In the third race division for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings, all 12 starters are sired by Lazarus N.
Lazarus N was a 15-time Group 1 winner, establishing 5 track records in New Zealand and another 3 records in Australia. Sent to race in North America, Lazarus N won the $325,000 Dan Patch Invitational in his North American stakes debut in 1:48.4. His next US stakes victory would come in the $177,000 Hoosier Park Pacing Derby where he paced the mile in 1:48.4. He stands stud at Deo Volente Farms in Flemington, NJ.
