Majestic Man’s biggest weapon could be on show

Majestic Man’s (Majestic Son) biggest weapon could be on show in the Basil Dean Free-For-All at Addington on Friday night. There was some trepidation about how the trotter would return to harness racing after he didn’t look a shadow of his true self at the end of an Australian campaign last year.

But the Phil Williamson trained star has blown those slight concerns away with two outstanding victories at Addington in the first two starts of his new campaign.

Known as one of the fastest mobile beginners in Australasia, Majestic Man hasn’t used his signature weapon in his two returning wins.

But with the way Friday night’s Basil Dean Free-For-All sets up driver Brad Williamson may be tempted to use it.

Majestic Man is well placed to push forward considering he has two runs under his belt while two of his key rivals in Gold Chain and Midnight Dash are going into the race fresh up.

Williamson admitted the option of taking the Basil Dean Free-For-All by the scruff of the neck early is one he may take up.

“He has got a bit of match fitness on his side now, so we certainly haven’t ruled out the option of rolling forward with him.”

“I will just have to sum it up at the time.”

“It is definitely a possibility that he could roll forward this week.”

“With it being a longer trip, I wouldn’t think there would too many that would want to hold him out over the 2600m.”

Majestic Man has a gate flyer inside him The Dominator who made a very rare mistake behind the mobile in his last outing.

Considering that and their rankings in the Basil Dean’s likely market order, it would be a major surprise to see The Dominator attempt to park Majestic Man.

Both Gold Chain (Muscle Hill) and Midnight Dash (Muscle Hill) head into Friday night’s trotting feature without having trialled, though both are coming off relatively short breaks from racing with both trotters last racing in May.

Midnight Dash’s stablemate, comeback trotter Enghien (Love You) may have the most to prove in Friday night’s race.

After a strong first up second following his mammoth break from racing, the eight-year-old battled on just fairly for third behind My Moment’s Now and The Fox in a middle class event at Addington.
