Unbeaten colt Don’t Stop Dreaming (Bettor’s Delight) went three from three tonight when taking out the (Gr2) Welcome Stakes at Addington Raceway in the hands of harness racing driver Mark Purdon.
An aggressive drive from behind the gate at the start saw Purdon charge to front and from there run very soft sectionals in front before unleashing a 26.2 second last quarter to win very easily from stablemate Final Collect and driver Natalie Rasmussen.
“He is something special, a real class act,” Mark Purdon said after the race.
“He has got that brilliance that puts a tingle up your spine,” he said.
The Purdon/Cullen stable trained the first four home in tonight’s race with Mark Purdon having trained or co-trained the last nine winners of the event.
DON’T STOP DREAMING REPLAY
Earlier in the night the Purdon Cullen stable also won the New Zealand 2YO Trotting Stakes with High Energy.
High Energy (Father Patrick) is also unbeaten after two starts and tonight reeled of a slick 57.3 last half to win the (Gr3) event by more than four lengths from the Robbie Holmes trained Cappaha.
