Leeston harness racing trainer Chris McDowell has trained fifty five winners over fourteen seasons and he’s just one win away from equalling his season’s PB of nine, set in both the 2018 and 2021 seasons.

He has six runners at the Oamaru meeting on Sunday starting with Terror Ma Sue (Terror To Love) in Race One. Her form prior to her last start at Timaru was good but she dropped, finishing eleventh.

In Race Two the stable representative is Gary Player (Imperial Count). This five start maiden has broken each time he’s gone to the races.

In Race Four McDowell has Kawactus (Highview Tommy). This twelve start maiden last raced at Timaru finishing eleventh after racing three wide.

Chris has two runners in Race Five – Flo Motion (Betterthancheddar) and Lets Get Tropical (Gold Ace).

Flo Motion looked unlucky at Addington when she was held up by a retreating runner.

Three year old Lets Get Tropical last raced in February and has had four trials to get him ready for Sunday’s assignment.

McDowell’s final runner is Judgement Day (Christian Cullen) who starts off the unruly in Race Seven. She broke at her last start. Judgement Bay is Chris’s best bet with Flo Motion in Race Five.
