Trainer/driver Craig Demmler stood down

Harness Racing Victoria stewards, acting under the provisions of Australian Rule of Harness Racing (ARHR) 183, suspended the training and driving licences of Mr Craig Demmler on Friday, March 13.

This decision was made in connection with an analysis of a raceday sample collected from one of Mr Demmler’s horses.

The Chemistry Centre in Western Australia and the National Measurement Institute in NSW, after conducting analysis of the relevant sample, reported the sample contained cobalt at a concentration in excess of the permissible threshold of 200 micrograms per litre in urine. Mr Demmler has appealed the decision of the HRV Stewards to suspend his licences.

This appeal, which relates only to the decision to suspend Mr Demmler’s licences, will be heard by the independent HRV Racing Appeals and Disciplinary (RAD) Board on Wednesday, March 18, at 10am.
