The Brett Gray trained Miki’s Deal (Always B Miki) proved a class act when she raced tough and still had gas left at the end of the $70,000 Ricoh Bionic Chance Two Year Old Fillies Bracelet at Addington tonight.
Bred and owned by Marty Fairbairn the two year old filly was three back on the inside, once The Queens Gambit and Cool For Cats had sorted out who was going to lead.
With just under a lap to run driver Matty Williamson decided to move off the running line and sit parked.
At the end of the 1980 metres trip Miki’s Deal had a length and a quarter to spare over Treacherous Me trained by his brother, with a half a length back to Ideal Crown trained by Chelsea Faithful – making it a Southern trifecta.
“She’s just got that class and she’s so laid back and doesn’t know what she’s doing yet. I thought that being parked wouldn’t worry her and she sat on the bit a bit more than I thought she would being out there. She was waiting on them up front and once Nath (Nathan Williamson driving Treacherous Me) got up beside her she was never going to let her pass. She was going away at the end,” Matty Williamson said.
