Multis the way to go

On a day when field sizes are extremely low and there are going to be some short priced favourites, having a series of multi bets on a variety of races could be a good option at the Invercargill Harness Racing Club meeting tomorrow (23rd November).

Shezza Vinny (Vincent) is tough, typical of the Brinsdon breed. Despite the wide draw she should be a winning chance albeit at short odds in Race Two.

It could be worth running her in a multi with Robyns Shadow (Shadow Play). Oamaru trainer Matty Williamson has found it hard to get him into the right frame to be competitive but Carl Hanna is known for getting battling horses back into form by working them on his dairy farm. A change of scenery could do the trick here.

Majesdix (Majestic Son) looked to be a filly with potential in the early part of the season and she has the ability to beat a small field in Race Four.

The Mark Jones Mayson Shard, (Bettor’s Delight) despite the wide draw looks the obvious choice in Race Five. Magnetic Becker (Sportswriter) looks the main danger.

Itoje (Betterthancheddar) is pretty much a certainty in Race Six. He had no luck on a tricky track at Oamaru and will be at skinny odds.

Robyns Hustler (Shadow Play) has been placed behind good types in Miraculous (Bettor’s Delight) and Coaster (Downbytheseaside) and gets a nice draw to work with in Race Seven.

Step It Up A Notch (Rock N Roll Heaven) could be at good odds in Race Eight, the best race of the day. I’ve always liked horses that go to Canterbury and return to race in their home province.

Spicy bets for longer odds: American Mac (American Ideal) in Race Three and Durrant (Art Major) in Race Five.
