Nathan Williamson will be taking a powerful team of pacers to the Wairio harness racing meeting at Winton on Sunday.
His day wonāt get underway until the first heat of the Alabar Southern Supremacy Stakes at 3.30pm when heāll line up two runners, Ultimate Weapon (Bettorās Delight) and unbeaten Miraculous (Bettorās Delight).
Ultimate Weapon last raced at Omakau finishing eighth. Heās been freshened since and impressively won a workout at Winton last week.
Boom pacer Miraculous last started in the middle of December. He too won impressively at the Wyndham Workouts last weekend.
Zamperini (SweetĀ Lou) gets a nice draw at three for Williamson in Race Seven. After pacing roughly on the home bend at Winton on debut, he made ground late to run sixth.
In the second heat of the Macca Lodge/Nevele R Stud Southern Oaks, Ruby Roe (Captaintreacherous) and Flying Ellie (Art Major) wear the Williamson colours.
Ruby Roe gets the best draw at five. After winning her first two starts impressively she proved she wasnāt the finished product when racing greenly at her last start just prior to Christmas. Sheās been back to the Winton Workouts where she beat the talented Captain Meister.
Flying Ellie also raced just before Christmas finishing second to Treacherous Baby at Ascot Park. After a break sheās been back to the workouts, finishing a close second on a rain affected track at Winton.
Williamson also has two runners in the $25,000 Otautau Four Square Supermarket Wairio Cup.
Mr Cashman (Shadow Play) copped some interference at his last start at the Northern Southland meeting nearly three weeks ago. He comes into the cup in a fresh state.
Sand Wave (Somebeachsomewhere) who starts off 40 metres wasnāt at his best in the Northern Southland Cup. Heās had treatment since but faces a tough task from his handicap.
Micaitlen Denario (Captaintreacherous) and Itoje (Betterthancheddar) line up for the stable in Race Eleven.
Micaitlen Denario hasnāt raced since the middle of December when she ran sixth in the nine horse field. Sheās had two workouts since and gets a nice draw to play with on Sunday.
Itoje ran home nicely on the grass at Riverton against stronger company. He has a wide draw at six to contend with on Sunday.
Williamsonās final runner Rakamurph (Captaintreacherous) has been disappointing this campaign. Heās been freshened since racing at Omakau and as a three win horse is in a winnable grade in Race Twelve.
