Paynter will be represented by four runners in the Check Out The CR Hire Equipment Trot (2200m), including debutants Tourminator, Ngauruhoe and Itaintnecessarilyso, along with five-start maiden Mont Blanc.

Paynter co-bred and part-owns both Tourminator and Ngauruhoe and will take the reins behind the latter on Thursday.

“Tourminator is a pretty nice filly, she is just learning the ropes but I think she will have a bit of a future,” Paynter said.

“She has been doing everything right. She has probably got the best manners out of all of them, she is pretty bombproof, but you just never know in a field like that.

“She has always been nice and has developed slowly into her body, she is quite a nice sized filly now.

“Ngauruhoe is a nice, big horse. He is probably six months away from being what he really needs to be. He has definitely got the ability but he is just a really big horse, a 16.2 hands three-year-old. He has still got a bit of developing to do yet.”

Paynter is also looking forward to Itaintnecessarilyso, a son of Allegro Agitato, making her debut.

“He is beautifully bred and he trots pretty nice too,” Paynter said. “He has got a fair bit of speed, but he just needs to behave himself at the start, he gets a little more uptight than the other two.”

Paynter’s quartet in the race will be rounded out by Mont Blanc, who is vying for his maiden win.

“He has just been letting us down with a couple of gallops. He has got a bit of ability but he just needs to learn how to trot all of the way.

“He trialled up pretty nicely on Saturday but he still had a little skip. He came home in 28, so he is not without his chance if he can trot the whole journey.”

Later on the card, Paynter will also line-up Flying Scotsman in the NZMCA Parking On Site At Cambridge Raceway Mobile Trot (2200m).

“He had a bit of vet work done on him a fortnight ago, he trotted quite rough in behind in his last start,” Paynter said.

“He seems pretty good now but he is only a one-win horse in a mobile with horses that have won seven and eight races, so he is probably up against it a bit.”
