Plainridge Park honored harness racing driver Shane Taggart, who recently notched his 1,500th career victory, before the start of the program on Monday.
Taggart, who is among the leading drivers at Plainridge, was joined by his wife Amy, daughters Hannah and Madison, along with members of the local harness racing community for the presentation of a banner commemorating the achievement.
On the track, Calvin B remained undefeated in his appearances at the Massachusetts track. With Kevin Switzer handling the reins, the heavily favored gelding cruised to a 1:51.2 victory in the open event. It was part of a driving double for the veteran Switzer.
Racing resumes at Plainridge Park on Wednesday afternoon.
