The New Zealand Trainers Premiership push continues for Steve and Amanda Telfer with seven runners at Auckland tomorrow night, seven at Addington and two at Ascot Park on Sunday.
The partnership currently sits on 85 wins halfway through the season, 11 clear of Michael House and 43 in front of last year’s premiership winners Robert and Jenna Dunn.
The Telfers have two runners in Race One at Addington.
Cheer The Captain (Captaintreacherous) has won two of his last three starts and was powering home on one rein at his last start.
Amanda rates Cheer The Captain as the Stable’s best bet.
Music Mistress (Sweet Lou) was caught wide at her last start but was still running on.
First starter Riptide (Art Major) wears the Stonewall colours in Race Three. He’s had one trial this prep and gets a nice draw at one to play with.
In Race Four is Arden Seascape (Downbytheseaside) who’s a new addition to the stable after recently being sold.
Carbon (Bettor’s Delight) goes around in Race Five for Steve and Amanda. He broke at his last start from a stand and is back behind the mobile tomorrow night.
CC Arden (Captaintreacherous) In starts in Race Nine, a 2600 metre stand. He’s won his last two starts and has won his only stand start.
Miki Flybye (Always B Miki) rounds out the night in Race Ten. He over-raced at his last start but was still brave in finishing second.
The Stable is represented by two runners at the Invercargill HRC meeting on Sunday at Ascot Park.
Mandala (Captain Crunch) has a good form line and draws nicely at two in Race One. This looks like a winnable race for her.
The Telfer’s other Ascot Park runner Bettor Off (Captaintreacherous) starts in Race Eight. She gets a second row draw.
